Jul 26, 2008 - Their bass player set the standard for catchy riffs (grand funk-I'm your captain, etc) followed them (the babes still knew how to shake it also)most excellent!!

Jul 26, 2008 - Very cool dancing
HickysBoy Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - The blondie 'swimmer' is fire-hot 60s style! I think she is the same girl as on the Hondells Little Honda clip (wearing large black glasses).

Jul 26, 2008 - There's just something uncool about rock bands singing anti-drug songs. They even knock Steppenwolf in the opening line with the swipe at "Magic Carpet Ride." The Damned do a great cover of this in their knock-off group Naz Nomad and the Nightmares.
Duchess691 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - The blonde "swimmer" is Candy Johnson who danced on Frankie Avalon movies like, Beach Blanket Bingo and Elvis' stuff. Last I heard she lives somewhere in California.
HickysBoy Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Thank you! Certainly one of the classic 60s girl looks. Grace Slick another...but Candy looks more fun. :)

Jul 26, 2008 - I love this song. "All your kicks aint bringin' you peace of mind." Very true.
metaletech Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Hey librarianeric: "Kicks" came out in 65/66. Steppenwolf did "Magic Carpet Ride" in 1968. Magic Carpet Ride was a term used for LSD Trips in the mid-60's before the term "Tripping" came out.

Jul 26, 2008 - Their is something cool about rock bands singing anti-drug songs. Proves that all rock singers weren't born brain dead ( or at least aspired to become brain dead ). Thanks Raiders. Quote: " Why the hell didn't I listen to Paul Revere and the Raiders. " Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrison, ad infinitum.

Jul 26, 2008 - Well what can one say. One of the most underrated songs of the 60's. People may laugh at Mr. Lindsey and Company, but what a song this was. Mark sure looked mean in this video. Production was ahead of its time!!!

Jul 26, 2008 - In retrospect this band had some good music. At the time we sort of wrote then off as a joke. Great stuff.
katesgram Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - If you are referring to the girls dancing in the video-Look again- that's Goldie Hawn. If I have misunderstood you and you are referring to something else- sorry.
dbcreates Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - not Goldie Hawn--use your pause button and you'll see that Goldie has a shorter face from jaw to nose than this rather long-jawed dancer...btw, where did they get all that fringe?
wjv4me Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - I agree, we had so much new music pouring out from G.Britain and the USA. This was a great band...unforgettable songs...Thanks for posting this upload-lovin' it!

Jul 26, 2008 - OK it was Goldie Hawn in the Show.I called My Uncle Revere to Ask him. He said it was her. She was a dancer in LA in those days. So all of you that is her. I will never forget as A kid back about this time was 1967 I was 6 Years old and would try to Pull Marks pony tail So many people thought it was fake. It was real . And when I would sneak up behind him to pull on it he would tickle me for 2 Min's to get me back till I would pee my pants. Mark was one of the nicest people. And Still is.Kicks
kyoshi99 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - that's not Drake and Fang. It's Freddie Weller and Charlie Cole/. Fang and Drake had left by this time in 1967. And they all got back together for the last time in 1979.Charlie Cole went on to be a solo Jazz player and Freddie Had a big country Music carer.
