Jul 26, 2008 - I think anybody that didnt know that the Wii is a Gamecube advance. When Nintendo decided to make this they stated on G4TV that they only had so much to make the system so they couldnt go overboard like the 360 or PS3. If you compare both systems they are just alike except for the bonus features the Wii have. Anybody that cant believe that is extremely naive. On top of that the cube wasnt a bad system it just didnt get no air play because of the PS2 and Xbox.

Jul 26, 2008 - Yeah! finally i can start programming for the wii!

Jul 26, 2008 - The Wii is roughly twice as fast on a whole than the Gamecube and it has more RAM available to it. But yeah, it's essentially a Gamecube. WIth that little extra horsepower though, it should prove to be the perfect console for multimedia and emulators up to the N64.
IceGod64 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - And gamecube.Ahaha, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! XD I had to say it.I was kidding around, but either way, it's cool that we might see some cool things finally.
PheNOMofHDC Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Custom firmwares anyone? it would be a great idea just like the psp.
lifeinsepia Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Erm, 3 things1)"I think anybody that didnt know that the Wii is a Gamecube advance." is what? You never finished that sentence2)The GC got loads of airplay, it was a better console overall than the PS2, graphics wise, game wise, fun wise.3)Thw wii is the same as a GC? What? It has more RAM, internal memory and its fully online! You obivously don't know what you are talking about...
Adictron Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - There is already up to N64 emulators for GameCube, but yes, they will run better on Wii :)
GhostSonic Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Took em long enough. Theres also apperently some "save" exploit for zelda now. Theres some screen shots around of the game being crashed with it. and 4 lines of code can be ran too from it. 2008 is looking great for the hacking scene
vikingscool Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - no need a modchip, like PSP did having homebrew games.
ELY3M Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - he needed to use openwii mod chip on his wii. I talked with bushing other day.
ZeldaDD Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Yeah, this is what Bushing and Segher (and perhaps others of the group who did this hack) are working on now. It sounds as though it's progressing nicely, though there isn't much more to say than that since it isn't released yet, not ready yet.
ElementalTJ Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - 8 lines. Jebus.
ElementalTJ Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Dude, there are N64 games on the PSP. :)
Heptopus Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - He is at a hacker convention, and he also (with his team) formulated this one hour before the presentation. Don't worry, he knows leagues more than you ever will
sacs1800 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - does bushing or his friends have a blog/website about their research?
MrSpock666 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - but they run like shit
johnodd4 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - it is called a trunch signer which is now blocked in the new wii firmware due out at the end of this month.
ut2k4wikichici Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Never known anything about the Wii's hardware, thanks for the de-mystifying.
Nin10doFan Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Hey you're right...
KIFulgore Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - The sensitivity of the movement isn't affected by the sensitivity option, just the amount to which is sees IR light sources. The movement can be jumpy in some games but clever software can smooth it out.
KIFulgore Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Awesome job guys! Would be nice to run some media apps on the Wii. I'm less excited by homebrew games though because, frankly, I've never played a console homebrew game that was worth a damn. At least not one in 3D. Homebrew coders generally don't have the time or expertise to make a quality console game.
Sterlingfox Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Is there a full audio/video recording of this?I couldn't find a thing about this on the CCC resources..
ming1993 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - bunch of nerds! but heck without nerds who would we work for ! and all the greatest hacks
martinstatic Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Actualy daedalus runs great on psp, try latest revision with mario 64 you will be suprised.Basically open source = dynarec, which was handy
RFTL Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - You don't understand. BigN can't fix this without making every Game out there unplayable.
