Jul 26, 2008 - whats wrong with it, your make bad assumptions and ignore facts...
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - trousersnakechaser, call your local electric utility to see if you will save money. In the same area one utility offers rebates on equipment and the other one offers rebates and a rate less than 1/2 of normal energy costs. If a system costs $6000 and one saves $150 a month (very high amount for any region but I'll assume you are telling the truth) then the payback would be 3 years. Now in Kentucky the savings would be $25 ~ $50 per month and the payback would be 20 years, the life of the system.

Jul 26, 2008 - trousersnakechaser, I sure hate to burst your bubble but if you go to:designnews(dot)com/article/CA6572821(dot)htmland see how industry is planning to create hydrogen on a mass scale there are many plans and 12v batteries running metal plates (and Meyer's invention) isn't on the list. Please reply when you check this out and get back to the group.70 kWh of electricity usage is noted to produce an equivalent 1 gallon of gas.Dry your tears before responding because I'm tired of waa waa.
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - trousersnakechaser, if you can't copy and paste I'll do it for you:The promise of commercial electrolysers is that hydrogen can be produced at a refueling station or even at home. For instance, the Air Products electrolyser at the Shell Hydrogen station in White Plains, N.Y. requires a whopping 70-80 kW-hr (about 1/8th-1/10th of my monthly home electric bill) to make a single kilogram of hydrogen which yields the same amount of energy as a gallon of gasoline.
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - trousersnakechaser, I am keeping up with industry and the hydrogen future, it's in my job. Please ask questions instead of making bizarre accusations and comments.
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - trousersnakecatcher, if you can't figure out how much 70 kWh costs, call your local utility and get the $ figure. Here it's about 11 cents per kWh so this would equate to $7 ~ $8 hydrogen equivalent to a gallon of gas. If the utility offers a demand charge/usage charge here it's $7 per kW and 5 cents per kWh. That would equate to a flat monthly fee of $49 for demand and $3.50 hydrogen equivalent to a gallon of gas (this is if the hydrogen is produced in one hour and would vary w/demand).
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - if one could pump out 1 kg of hydrogen per hour - there are 720 hours in a 30 day month so the rate would be $49 + 720*($3.5)= $2569 ~ $2569/720 ~ $3.50 per kg average. This is only the electricity charge for seperation. Add to that the cost of the seperation unit and storage/holding of the hydrogen and the costs rise.Finite enough math for you?
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - trousersnakechaser, why the silence? Are my 'assumptions' still bad? Are my examples too hard for you to understand? Don't you understand simple algebra? I got my facts from a legitimate source that is actively working in the hydrogen field. If you or anyone else has a working vehicle that actually works as promised and can be verified it's worth a million dollars reward. Why hasn't anyone come forward with a working prototype? I see all kinds of hype and promises (for $49 for an ebook).
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - hho2you, you are strangely silent. With all your hype and indignation you should be ready to cash in on that million dollar reward. All you have to do is prove your vehicle works as promised. Or you could find one of your hho buds at the Florida get together and share the million bucks. With all those successful hho hypsters and kit sellers, there must be one that would fulfill the reqirements set forward for the reward. Tell me when you cash in on this and we can go out for a drink.
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - minde, you too are strangly silent after all your sword rattling about hho. If this system acually increases MPG as promised then you can get a million dollar reward. All you have to do is prove it works as advertised. Otherwise you are a blowhard liar. Put up or shut up. I can get you in touch with the person putting up the challange and reward.
minde4000 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - :) Working on my own cell and definetely not wasting even 1 more minute on sceptic cowards. Facts are that kits are being succesfully sold even with backlogs people are happy with improved mpg so you can kiss my a.. and move along. The End
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - minde, keep wasting your time. Of course if you get a working model that you can prove increases MPG then there is a million dollar prize. If you actually accomplish that goal I can get you in touch with the responsible party to get you your money.Of course kits are being sold. But if they are so successful why hasn't anyone come forward to claim the money? Is it the 'provable' part? If it's so successful then you should be trying to get hold of me to claim your prize. Why not????
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - This group got very quiet after the million dollar challange. Why hasn't anyone of the braggerts become an instant millionaire? Is it because of the little thing called 'proof'??Talk is cheap and it's worth nothing when an hho hypster's lips are moving.

mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - '"they" murdered the inventor'haha"ahh I've been poisoned!!!!!! aaahh"That is so fkn lame and the funniest thing I have ever heard.Losernoname, if you are so convinced you and jmh should get together and have Stan Meyer's body exhumed and tested for poison. We will all support this to see the actual and real truth to shut you up once and for all.Contact: Mayor Richard L. "Ike" Stage at:Phone: 614.277.3000He should be able to help you in your quest.Put up or shut the fk up.
mahammadabba Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Anyone that want's Stan's patents FREE go to:waterpoweredcar*com/stan*htmlNot that they are worth the bandwith they occupy but it's better than paying the hho scammers $49 for an ebook with the same info.

oneboredphysicist Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - This is a long post and will be broken up across several messages: Message 1In the case of naturally occurring energy storage systems (water, oil), the goal is to find a method in which the energy extracted from the storage system exceeds the energy needed to effect its release. We are generally interested in that portion of the energy released that we can then use for mechanical work (e.g., lifting a piano).
oneboredphysicist Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Darn limited forum posts... summary onlySummary:If we input into an engine 79Wh of which 52% of energy is converted to usable work (40 Wh). Then a process for separating hydrogen from water requires less than 40 Wh per mole of water. It takes 65 Wh for electrolysis to extract the hydrogen from 1 mole of water at STP. Any adjuncts that you use for catalysis must reduce this below 40Wh before we can begin to discuss a system based upon it.

Jul 26, 2008 - Google:"Solar Powered Home-Hydrogen Fueling Station"....This unit would generate what would be equal to about 3-5 gallons of gas a day and would cost about $500...A US company, United Nuclear is testing one that will cost about $2500, including a high tech solar element that would only take up about 1/3 of the average 2 car garage, and will produce and safely store the equivlent of 10-14 gallons per day depending on climate.
jmh423 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Google"United Nuclear-HHO Conversion"There is a system being perfected right now that will enable anyone to have their existing internal combustiion engines converted to run on hydrogen gas that can be produced using solar power at your home. Also the tanks that will store the HHO gas on board your car are much safer than gas tanks in the cars now. A '94 Corvette that has been tested gets 400 miles before refill. The conversion kit will be sold with a HHO home generator.
jmh423 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - "New Scorpion Gas/Hydrogen Hybrid Supercar Achieves 40mpg" Ronn Motor Company has unveiled the key to a new generation of "green cars" that will help drive down the cost to travel the highways with ON DEMAND hydrogen production. The hydrogen delivery system with dual computer processor controls produces HHO on demand, and in real time, which will be inducted through the air intake manifold and blended with gasoline at a ratio of 30-40 percent hydrogen, according to Maxwell.
tronchaser2u2 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - mommadobba:70-80 kWh to produce enough hho equivalent to one gallon of gas? Can you provide proof of this? where did you arrive at these numbers? Does this mean that it is impossible to improve the efficiency of electrolysis? All you have proved is that you know how to throw a bunch of numbers that you pulled out of this air and are using them to make your claim, has nothing to do with what meyers claimed he was doing, absolutely nothing!
