This is a short documentary about military recruitment and counter-recruitment in colleges and high schools. The speakers are amateur but the content about the movement is good, and it's nice and short.

Oct 6, 2008 - "I'm proud to be brainwashed.""I'm defending your liberty, give me respect or I will assault you!""Damn faggot hippies! I, on the other hand, get go across the globe to shower, eat, and spend the majority of my time with a bunch of other men who all share the same taste in clothing. Look how manly I am. Count my push-ups. Ugh, ugh." This seems to be the usual jingoist rhetoric on Youtube.

Oct 6, 2008 - Wow, and these are the people whose rights that i chose to protect and defend with my own life. ive visited countries where people's toungues would be cut from there mouths or there life taken for this type of crap. You people are nothing new!!sick people like yourselves have been around for ages. It takes a much bigger and better man and woman than the both of you to do the job that we do knowing that people like you two exist in the U.S.
sergeantghoston Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - Damnit FREEDOM ISN'T FREE!! Someone has to pay for it. Its clear that neither of you have the heart to do so. you get to reap the benefits of our hard work and dedication that we provide for supportive and proud U.S. Citizens. There are Many people in the U.S. Military that has not lived in this country for more than five years and have already made more of a difference than u ever will.

Oct 6, 2008 - lol @ the sign of "Killing Innocent Civilians is not a job opportunity." I would like to point out 9/11 - It isn't a job opportunity but more so, a civic/patriotic DUTY. Innocent people in wars die- its tragic, but unavoidable. Get over it.
supportdatroops1 Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - both of these pricks arent even in the military how dare them say these things
dbh259 Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - Wars ARE unavoidable. How can you tell someone to "get over it" if their family has died in a war?
Kmill217 Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - Humans as a species have continually resorted to war as a means of conflict resolution. Looking at past trends and different cultures, warfare as a means of conflict resolution is a reacurring pattern of human culture. By going back to ancient times, before the establishment of States or any formal colonies, evidence of armed conflict has been found.
Kmill217 Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - I used the wrong word, I would certainly agree with you that its avoidable, but in all likely hood inevitable. If you won't stand behind our troops, I say go stand in front of them. Good day.
dbh259 Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - But that doesn't mean that WE have to resort to war. WE should learn from the mistakes that people made in the past.
Kmill217 Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - Nobody just willingly resorts to war. There has to be strong motive set in place for one another to inflict death and pain among others. You are telling me that if a stranger came into your house threatening you with your life that you would not resort to violence in order to keep your self alive. You should learn about Darwin and Herbert Spencers theories. Survival of the Fittest. I'd imagine if someone was threatening you or your family with their lives you would not AVOID conflict.
dbh259 Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - if someone came into my house, I'd call the cops and get out of the house. But who is really being violent in this scenario? The person who came into my house, or me?
Kmill217 Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - You didn't interpret the scenario correctly. If the person came into your house threatening to kill you, what would you do? Obviously the perpetrator would not allow you to leave or call the cops, so what would you do? Your dodging the question because everyone knows that in a life or death situation there comes a human instinct to live. Thus, the same with War. When people feel threatened, most usually resort violence/war. Fight or Flight.

Oct 6, 2008 - Wars ARE avoidable..but america always chooses violence as a solution
dbh259 Says:
Oct 6, 2008 - I wrote "undavoidable," didn't I? I meant AVOIDABLE. yes, wars are avoidable.
