Aug 20, 2008 - can anyone come up with his song your best friend and me?

dreadnought45 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I used to listen to him from Toronto on the WWVA Jamboree, from Wheeling West Virginia on Saturday nights when I was growing up in the 50's. Recorded I think in 1955.

pegcage Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - That's Tex Ritter introducing him -- John Ritter's Dad.

remraftrid Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - This was recorded at Town Hall Party. That's Joe Maphis playing the Mosrite double-neck guitar, Les "Carrot Top" Anderson with the carrots appliqued on his black shirt on Mac's right, Fiddling Kate, and it looks like Johnny Bond on the right side of the screen.

Gatorrock786 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - You have all the personnel correct... but the name of this show is "Ranch Party" -- the syndicated version of Town Hall Party. The two shows had the same cast for the most part. The only difference is "Ranch Party" was a 30-minute show filmed for national distribution. Town Hall Party was was shown over Los Angeles station KTTV live for 3 hours on Saturday nights.

remraftrid Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - OK. Now I know why the same show had two different names. In the closing seconds you can see another double-neck guitar on the right side of the screen. That must be Larry Collins. I went there several times in early 1957. Frddie Hart had 3 songs getting airplay at that time. And Jenks "Tex" Carman performed playing dobro.
