Oct 11, 2008 - Keep in mind that your desire is language training and that is accomplished through conditioning like this tool you are using here. If you desire language to be completely typical then the focus must be on programming that will get you there.MORE

Oct 11, 2008 - 1st step: Mand (motivation for frequency)2nd step: Tact (concrete for topic speech)3rd step: Intraverbal (reciprocal speech)Step 1 must sell language to childStep 2 might need to be interspersed into manding graduallyStep 3 might need book with each page a aspect of an item to encourage back and forth speech.

Oct 11, 2008 - What a cutie pie! = ) My son with PDD-NOS has been attending special ed kindergarten, just for 6 months, and it has helped him so much! He is most severe in his speech, but he can now put together sentences! Update us on how she is doing!

Oct 11, 2008 - In response to will97herbst,I don't think that it is really appropriate for you to say that you are "sorry" to hear about this little girl. You heart is in the right place but I think that her mom probably feels blessed to have this bright, loving, and exceptional child. Anna seems to be on a higher functioning end of the spectrum and her mother should be very proud of how exceptional that she is. What a gorgeous child with a gorgeous brain!

Oct 11, 2008 - Hi Ranchobaja! I have a 3-year old daughter with PDD-NOS, and she reminds me so much of your daughter! It is just amazing to see the very same tone of voice, the same intonation in speech, the same need to be directed to pay attention.. all of it is soooo similar. Thank you for posting this. It really is comforting to see another little girl just like mine.

Oct 11, 2008 - I swear to God sometimes I feel that this PDDnos thing is madeup. I can swear that so many of my friends growing up in Europe were the same way and now are doctors and engineers. Sometimes I get scared thinking that maybe we are becoming a flock of sheep and turning our children int o machines. My uncle did not talk till he was 3 and a half and my nana tells me he used to band his head when angry and today he is a certified accountant.MayGod spear us for our lack of patience.

Oct 11, 2008 - I wonder what a selfish world we are in. Now the lobbyists are using our children. Just try to think back. In our times there were soo many kids who had no attention psan etc. in school but still went to regular classes and came out with flying colors in the end. Autism in one thing but all these quaint unneeded madeup labels like PDDNOS just infurairate me at how we are letting this happen!

Oct 11, 2008 - This girl is a beautiful beautiful girl and whichever doctor has labelled her needs to be ashamed of him/herself. I swear to God my own sister failed in languages till grade three and then she stood first in class in England. Pleas wake up these are little children not grannies. !!
sherilynnsk Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Yes, she IS beautiful and yes, she HAS a diagnosis of PDD-NOS! So what???? This will get her services that she needs so that she can be the best she can be. Is that a crime?? Why should that dr feel sorry for themself?? Because she's getting services or is it because ignorant people like yourself can judge them because of a label. All people are beautiful including those who have been diagnosed with forms of autism. Get a life and quit writing disrespectful comments of people's children.

Oct 11, 2008 - Hey you Sherilynnsk Psychooo... Did u ever carefully read my message or is it that you are incapable of understanding english u weird sicko.. All people like u are labelling these poor children without reason. IF anyone should be labelled it should be you you psycho with an IQ of 0.I was saying that this girl is perfect and should not have been labelled. These sick doctors are messing with our kids and sickos like u rae giving them reason to do that weirdo...

Oct 11, 2008 - In this weird world if nay kid is different thye rae going to label that kid.. Thats just sick... we have just tightened the domains of undertsanidng children. Nowadays adults are recommended therapy for eating walking, talking. Now they have included are children in it. Let kids be kids. Let them take their time. They will speak eventually. Do not shorten their childhood. Every kid develops at her/his own pace.Lets just butcher all those who are planning to make money out of giving labels.

Oct 11, 2008 - To forget3:You are an ignorant, judgmental individual. You have no right to tell other people how to best care for their children. My son is three years old and barely talks at all, his therapy is EXTREMELY helpful to him because now he can say what he wants instead of throwing awful tantrums. Also, it's "you" noy "U", you need to brush up on your own language skills before you disrespect anyone else's. Moron.
