Sep 6, 2008 - Because we find it easier to identify with a fellow mammal then we do with a fish. Logically there is no difference but emotionally we empathize with the seal when we witness this.

Sep 6, 2008 - oh, then are you telling me that dolphins are more precious then cows?

paulgreenfields Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - Dolphins are so good. One of my favorite water mammals.NG is a good channel too.

thestarduster Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - dstevens, male dolphins will kidnap (steal) female dolphins and perform forced copulations. The males of many dolphin species will kill calves that are not their own, kill other species (e.g. porpoises), kill sick pod members, bite one another and bully etc. Some even cannablise their own kind (e.g. Orcas). They are no different to any other wild animal. People just like to think they are somehow 'divine' and don't do this sort of thing but it is just not true.

MayaMKIII Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - they are pretty smart though, and unlike other animals they like sex for pleasure ha ha

thestarduster Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - maya, this is another 1 of the many myths about dolphins.Bonobos also mate for pleasure. Also: what animal doesn't mate for pleasure? Pigs can orgasm for 30 min. For most dolphins, the bulk of mating does actually occur in the mating season & less outside of it. Humans don't have mating seasons so it can be defined as pleasure.River dolphins live solo lives & don't mate unless a partner seeks them out during season so River dolphins are just like most other animals who only mate during season.

NorbPwn Says:
