Aug 21, 2008 - Notes have nothing to do with the intensity of the sound or the instruments played. It just so happens that the "certain note compilation" is exactly the same as Born Free backwards. Sounds like a copy to me.
Erunai Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - . . . You are twisting my words... The note compilation was certain beat, which is only part of the whole song. And therefore he did not COPY the song backwards, but only used that beat to go off in a whole neo-classical sound direction, which in my opinion made it a whole lot better.
drfoxdrfox Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - Take a music lesson before you argue your point. Beat, note, rhythm.. they are mean different things. And yes, it is copied backwards for that main part of the theme in the beginning - not the whole song.
Erunai Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - Note creates beat, beat creates rhythm. No it is not... It has elements which are the same but are put to different use. Which means it is not copied, but only splintered into a different genre of music.
drfoxdrfox Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - Is that so? You can take the same set of notes and put it into a different rhythm and use a different beat... easily. Seriously, stop making a fool of yourself.

TyberZann2000000 Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - me too
Erunai Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - You are saying it is copied, which means not just some of the notes are copied, but everything about it: notes, rhythm, and the beat. And as you can hopefully hear, the two songs are very different.
drfoxdrfox Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - I said from the beginning that it was copied backwards, which it was.
Erunai Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - the song is not copied backwards, because then it would lead to copyright violations >.> And you said I was dense?
drfoxdrfox Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - You are dense. "Williams has widely maintained that his original theme is the theme song from Born Free played in reverse."
Erunai Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - Ah, but you said copied. So you have defeated yourself by going to Wikipedia. It is not copied, but only played with a classical theme, which therefore the theme song came about; two different songs, from one. >.> So, my young friend, the details have won yet again. He did not take the exact song and played it in reverse, he made it different, by adding more instruments, and a different genre to it. Plus, Born Free has lyrics, you do not here lyrics played backwards in the Star Wars Theme.

Aug 21, 2008 - John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra everyone!
gath1965 Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - You put your statement in quotes. Whom are you quoting? Cite your source. John Williams would never just reverse another's work. He's a master composer. March of the Jedi Knights (aka the Star Wars theme song) is an original composition by Mr. Williams, who has been an accomplished symphonic composer far longer than you've likely been alive. Born Free is not even remotely similar. Your ignorance is embarrassing to yourself and your vulgar lack of discipline annoying to us.
drfoxdrfox Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - Its common knowledge that the main opening theme of Star Wars was created by using a 'reversed note' version of Born Free. To say "it isn't remotely similiar" makes sense - because you need a good musical ear to understand what a melody would sound backwards. Doesn't matter who I was quoting, because its 100% true. And March of the JediKnights wasnt -COMPLETELY- an original piece. I'm just saying a part of the song was taken from somewhere else - I never knocked Williams' ability to compose

Aug 21, 2008 - its not this is epic.... i bought a copy of the sheet of music and it srry to say NOT COPYED
Papustiikka Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - I love Star Wars xD This song is awesome!
Erunai Says:
Aug 21, 2008 - Once again you said "copy" which means that they are exactly the same in melody and rhythm, which they are not. The Star Wars theme is more robust, and grand. While Born Free is more slow dancing kind of music. So the theme did not copy it, it just use a certain note compilation and built around it.
