Here's how to knit "my so called scarf" or "my Manos Del Uruguay scarf". The pattern itself is pretty simple -- just two rows repeated throughout the scarf, but the stitches are kind of tricky to get at first. The full pattern is linked here: http://www.wingedsheep.com:80/blog/2006/10/04/the_traveling_scarf.html

Sep 6, 2008 - I found this difficult to follow because I couldn't see the stitches due to the dark yarn...

Sep 6, 2008 - hi! found you! that was fun...i have no desire or motivation to knit but it was kinda trippy watching a youtube video of one of my friends. 12,000 views...in the future, everyone will have 15 minutes of knitting fame.-andrew

Sep 6, 2008 - If you are the author of this pattern, the directions were confusing. Larger needles needed to be used, and this video was blurry. One has to write clear and concise patterns. I was confused and I have been knitting for over 40 yrs.

Sep 6, 2008 - I am not the author of the pattern. Sorry the video is blurry, You Tube's compression affected the video quality, but also - my webcam isn't easily focusable. Maybe one day I'll re-record the video, but it won't be anytime soon, unfortunately.

Sep 6, 2008 - I loved this pattern - it was easy to lean!the results are interesting they look like weaving and feel like crocheting. I used malabrigo variegated and the results were marvelous - though I never completed the project...

Sep 6, 2008 - This is helpful for the first row, but not so on the second row. It's very hard to see what's going on. I'd love to be able to share this with some of my group members!!!

Sep 6, 2008 - I had read your comment on Ravelry that you had made this. Thank you so much for the video. I understand it now.

Sep 6, 2008 - Not only is she not the author it, the author of it isn't even the author. It's a simple stitch pattern that you can find in most stitch dictionaries - in mine (and on several places online), it's called Little Herringbone. Once you master the mechanics of the stitches it's the easiest pattern in the world. I, for one, appreciate the time and the effort of that person who made this video. If anyone thinks they can do a better job, they should give it a try themselves...or else hush. :)

Sep 6, 2008 - Ok, I really can't do the knit side. What do you mean by pass one over? That' the part that gets me. The purl side I can do ok, but I need a bit of practice.
