A 30MM traveling at mach 1.2+ (800Mph+) hitting a tank will either penetrate the hell out of it, or it will really weaken the armor, making way for the following 50 bullets that will impact the same area within the second.I have a question though,How does the M61 Vulcan (20MM if I'm not mistaking) compete with the GAU8 Avenger?

The initial muzzle velocity is much lower and to boot, there isn't anything like DU Equipped API ammunition.
