Jul 26, 2008 - The cellist is original (this quartet wouldn't be so great without him, he is 80 something and still kicking) and the players are good, but the old quartet is much better (especially the interpretation of this Shostakovich Quartet).

Jul 26, 2008 - who isn't obsessed with shostakovich music ?
cdavisfour Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - how does that guy do the high half steps with those chubby fingers, I don't mean to be mean, I just don't know how he pressures the string in the proper place with fingers like that (the first violinist I mean)

Jul 26, 2008 - Check out the first violinist`s instrument. He has fine-tuners on all 4 strings which give him a metallic sound. His last name is Aharonian. I had the opportunity to work with them some 5 years ago and was really impressed. Their musicality cannot be compared to other ensembles by listening to Shost. music.

Jul 26, 2008 - This is the new Borodin Quartet, without first violin Kopelman (fled to Tokio's) and the great viola Shebalin (unfortunatelly dead). Nevertheless, we can still enjoy Valentin Berlinsky's art.
