This is Hank's adoption announcement. The question I've been getting the most is "Is he really Chinese?" Yes, he is. Hank has Albinism This site http://www.albinism.org/ does a much better job explaining it than I can!The song is "Solsbury Hill" by Peter Gabriel. The lyrics can be found herehttp://www.lyricsfreak.com/p/peter+gabriel/solsbury+hill_20107506.htmlWe were in China for 2 weeks. Hank was from the Suzhou Social Welfare Insitute (orphanage) which we were allowed to visit but we spent most of the time in the cities of Nanjing (for the China paperwork) and Guangzhou (for the U.S. paperwork). Enjoy!

Jul 7, 2008 - Hank did not know any English when he first came home. We tried to learn some Mandarin, at least the important things (we love you, are you hungry etc). He is a fast learner! Now his English is almost perfect.

Jul 7, 2008 - what a good looking boy, congrats. One of my favorite songs, and the song fit perfectly with this video, i dont think I can ever listen to that song again without having your sons face in my head. What a special couple you guys are that choose to adopt an older child. I love hearing that not everyone sits around waiting for the new born when there are other children already in need of homes.scrappyscrap

Jul 7, 2008 - You are so awesome for bringing Hank into your home and also for giving him a chance. Many families wouldn't have ever considered adopting a kid with albinism and I pray that God will bless you for it! Best wishes!

Jul 7, 2008 - We were in China last November adopting our 6 year old from Nanjing. It looks as though, at one point, we had the same guide...she's in 1 of your pictures! Nancy? Suzhou is beautiful! The "Venice of China", right? I've heard the gardens are beautiful during the summer as well. DH is back now, adopting our son from Changzhou, so your pictures look quite familiar. :)

Jul 7, 2008 - You have obviously not educated yourself on Chinese adoption. There are many boys available of all ages with and without medical needs. I have a beautiful boy adopted from China.

Treemeadow Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - China has a one-child per city family policy, its very hard to manage population in a crowded country. This is why there are many hildren available.

Jul 7, 2008 - It's because Hank is albinos. They hate such kids in China.
