Jul 7, 2008 - Pity Evan was injured for worlds; I was really looking forward to his performance this year. His length gives him a really unusual movement across the ice that I've come to love :)

icekidT Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Wow! This performance only makes me feel sad and wish that I was watching Michelle Kwan, rather than Johhny Weir get screwed. Lysacek is completely outclassed in every way by both Weir and Kwan. I am so sad for my sport.

Fagur04 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Why is everyone blaming Evan? I thought judges were giving scores...This performance was pretty far from his best, actually it was rather poor, but it's really not his "fault" that the judges gave him higher marks... Johnny might have been better that night in the eyes of the fans, but he wasn't in the eyes of the judges... That's it.

Fagur04 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - ...and the fact that he's won 2 bronze medals at Worlds shows that he has everything that a classy skater has to have... not just power, but elegance, emotion and artistic skills too... I don't think anyone has the right to judge him by this single performance...

Jul 7, 2008 - This whole thread, is nothing more than a collection of Vapid Twits, who can't even construct a grammatically correct sentence without using speech disfillers ( the word "like"). Go ahead and cheer Weir--at least Evan has a set of balls. I'm gay, and I'm embarrassed by that flaming fem-boy.

Jul 7, 2008 - Queer Weir dresses like a girl, and he wears too much make-up. Is that your idea of a man?

imuy244 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - He doesn't dress like a girl; he dresses like Johnny Weir. Definition of "man" varies. Don't assume what you think is what the rest of the world thinks. ...and if you ask, yes, I love a man who dresses like that.

Andante735 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Oh please! He's got more foundation on his face, and more glitter on his costumes than a Las Vegas Showgirl. I don't assume anything, I just recognize a girlie guy when I see one. If you like the way he looks, that's your perogative--I can't stand to look at him.

imuy244 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Travel more, see the world.

Andante735 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Put it this way, he's a very talented skater, I'm just very turned off by his appearance. As for the traveling and seeing the world, I've lived in 4 different countries in EU, I think I'm doing ok on that end.

L8T8I8 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Have you ever even TRIED to compete in any sport at international or even Olympic level??Do you have ANY idea what it's like to work your a** off in training untill your feet are bloody and you have bruises all over EVERY SINGLE DAY just to hopefully win a medal and "make your country proud"?No? Then shut up and do something useful with your life.

Andante735 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - No I haven't, but that doesn't invalidate my right to an opinion. Why don't you go and do something useful with your life? I'm quite busy and satisfied with mine. Why not take some remedial courses in cognitive functioning? That sounds about right in your case. Don't tell anyone here to shut up--if you're not happy with a comment, then just ignore it. Then simply move on.

Jul 7, 2008 - I love this music ♥

mamasensei Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Of course not and from the number of negative ratings my comment received, it's apparent that several other individuals misunderstood what I was trying to say - I'm all for artistry and self-expression, I just think that oftentimes, figure skating can be a VERY political sport, judges often play favorites and lean towards someone more conservative, less 'controversial' (in their eyes, not MINE) I meant no disrespect to Johnny Weir or his way of expressing himself - he is a fabulous athlete.

ennaate Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - don't you all think that this ''Evan -Johhny'' fan battle is amusing?! just read your comments and try to put the picture together...it's just funy and quite miserable how you're constantly trying to show each other who's better! they are all professional athletes and do not deserve such comments..they really don't.

mamasensei Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Andante735 you're brutallly honest - I may not always agree but I admire your style! (and you're TOTALLY entitled to your opinion!)

Andante735 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I just realized I don't want to be viewed as being brutally honest, but thanks for the admiration. The point is they're so different - Evan and Weir, that the comparisons get tired. As I said in my last comment, Weir is a very talented skater, I just don't care for his appearance and demeanor. As much as I love Evan, this clip shows some poor skating. Oh well, good luck to both of them, but I still love Evan!

JNWiest Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - best. great evan.

polkadotkid Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - i luv evan lysacek! he rocks!

quembef Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - SOME PEOPLE sure dont seem to appreciate the effort these athletes give to make themselves and their countries proud. People like evan lysacek have been training their entire life for this... dont think their skills are based "politically"

quembef Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - L8T8I8 is right... i have to balance THREE math classes,. a college level literature class and advanced chemistry class along with self coached gymnastics AND self coached figure skating. you can talk all you want, but you need to understand the entire connotation of the statements your making. working your ass of to be your best is what lifes about.

quembef Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - YES!!! johnny weir doesn't present the masculinity that MENS figure skating needs. evan challenges him, and brings the heat. johnny may be better in some aspects, but lysacek is a full out competitor.

kitkat9288 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I just don't think he can pull off Tosca. Very few skaters can. Slutskaya couldn't; she just looked awkward. I think only Plushenko, Yagudin and Kwan did it adequately. I wasn't crazy about Michelle's either, but she can pull it off since she's Michelle Kwan. Yagudin's Tosca was fine, even though it was thrown together at the last minute and only performed once. But again, he's Alexei Yagudin and he does well with angst. And Plushy's had a little techno flair to it that worked well for him. .
