Jul 7, 2008 - hey gore1986, i would not insult your intelegence by assuming you believe what you wrote.why would you like this song if you do.

thedcoy Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - There are critics here in the states that have had success at their art. Such as Cameron Crowe (writer/director), Jann Wenner (publisher), and my idol (and the guy who labled cougar "mellonhead") Dave Marsh. You see, you've been misinformed again. Things are different here in the states compared to australia. Critics can be well paid and in general...have good intentions.

thedcoy Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Again dear stev...misinformed or you misinterpret my comments. Go back and re-read. Top 200 "songwriters" not songs. Ya gotta get this shit straight before asserting yourself friend. Like yourself, I could care less about record sales. You could probably find the monkees on your list as well. As for songwriters, you won't find peter tork or johnny cougar on any creditable persons list. Published or unpublished. He gets my credit for sales yes, but as far as any commendation for talent...zip.

thedcoy Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I mention hillbillies (as a state of mind not origin) because they are cougar's main target. They are the ones he "discovered" will buy records if he addresses them personally. As for bigotry and hatred...they are enemies to you and I yes stev...but it would be terribly naive to say they are enemies to us all (directly or indirectly) from a sociological point of view. As a songwriter, that line sounds pretty darn wishful and darn-right cornball.

thedcoy Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Stev, I hear ya dude so I'll explain myself. First off, I do not criticize artist unless I have a real good reason. Not even ABBA! I dislike john because of his dishonesty and his character (or lack of). He's an ass in my opinion. He sells his bullshit "american boy" image to the masses to make a buck. If he was a fake metal rocker, I would be fine with it. But what he's done is sold honesty and americanism in a dishonest way! He's a fake and that's what critics/artist criticize most(not skills)

Zerocyde Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - "that line sounds pretty darn wishful and darn-right cornball."You're right, we should give up and only write songs about weed and drive-bys.Seriously dude? What the fuck is wrong with you?

zoogr2 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Dude you've taken the song out of context, the song says: "That poverty could beJust another ugly thing..The dream is still alive Some day it will come true" WHICH means that all the lyrics in the song is just a dream something like "Wouldn't it be nice?" or "Imagine"...Still you know all those commercials in the Chevy ads explains your stupidity

Headcrabb Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Someone has been reading digg

thedcoy Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - First off...you're not Stev and nobody was talkin' to you there fowl mouth. Second, if you can't fathom my remarks...how in the hell do you understand cougars lyrics? You see, me saying wishful and corball is a mild way of saying that his comment is bullshit and ignorant. If you think every person feels bigotry is an enemy...ignorant as well. You want to write songs about weed and gangsters...go for it man. Idea here...write a song entitled "what the fuck"? I bet Cougar fans would be all over it!

thedcoy Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I wasn't commenting on cougars lyrics, I was commenting on what stev quoted as cougar lyrics. Go back and read and you'll get it I'm sure. As for the song or his intentions...I could care less. Being forced to work with that buffoon, I have no desire to try and relate to anything he writes. Along with 99% of all other artist I've worked with, we find him and his songs shit. We all think he's a talentless fake and an ass. Maybe that's why you won't see him on any published list of decent writers.

Jul 7, 2008 - Where do you want McCain to go? Because the White House is not somewhere he'll ever be going, unless invited by future presidents. Or maybe he can get his butt buddy Bush to sublet a room to him because he'll never be there as president. You can bank on that. Fuck McCain, and her Husband, Too!!!
