Nov 18, 2008 - In case you haven't noticed, you brain-dead moron: The song posted here belongs to the Cold War Era. It doesn't take much to find out all about its genesis by searching the net.If you want to discuss WW2, go elsewhere, where scum like you can rant all you want!! Too bad that the once mighty British Empire has been cut down to size a long time ago..to a mere middle power in Europe. Now back to Marlene, one of my idols!
BRUTUALTRUTH Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Nellov5 you little coward why won't you apologize for the atrocities of your country. Worthless useless coward! If you don't apologize then you support what happened. Disgusting and monstrous! You should be ashamed of yourself. Britain had and empire better than the Nazi empire your blood and flesh tried to create and failed! ANSWER THE QUESTION? Do you apolgize for what happened or show regret? YES OR NO? Like Nazis, no you don't!
nellov5 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - And may I ask what you have accomplished in your own miserable little life so far that deserves attention? For the record, nobody owes you anything! Particularly a worthless piece of Brit scum like you, who wasn't even alive during WW2. Maybe you should stick to what the likes of you and your mad-cow-infested brain seem to be doing best: Exporting more football hooliganism to the rest of Europe. Time to get a life and a brain! And to stick to the topic at hand, which is about Dietrich.

Nov 18, 2008 - I'm still as moved by this as I was in 1972. I think it is beautiful. Truth can be expressed by artifice and she does so with panache.

Nov 18, 2008 - Thanks for posting this. It's amazing how this song holds meaning for every generation... Written during the Cold War originally, but sung by a woman who saw World War II as well... Here, singing it again, near the end of Vietnam. And now she's gone, but my generation watches this and can't help but think of the war in Iraq (in addition to the lives lost in the conflicts mentioned above). I guess she says it best... When will they ever learn?

Nov 18, 2008 - War is Hell. It is not as Hellish as death, slavery and subjugation. My father and some of his brothers served in WWII. They did not boast or brag; they had a job to do, and they went and did it. Many of us Americans have German ancestry. Many have English ancestry, and European ancestry. Anger and bitterness should have died a long time ago. WWII is nothing anyone can be proud of.
