Dad makes an admirable soft landing despite a smartalecky crosswind. Kind of pukey, but oh so fun. Too bad he missed the runway, huh? (Just teasing about missing the runway: we gotta land in the grass to avoid shredding the chute.)

Nov 18, 2008 - How many feet does it take to land? How about take off?
treehug1 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Approx 300-400 feet to take off, and 50-100 feet to land. Many ultralight owners use farm pasture as a runway, and the landing isn't very bumpy at all. Taking off feels wonderful- like being pulled into the heavens by a string.

Nov 18, 2008 - I left a short sound clip at the end of "Don't spit into the wind/ Ultralight SixChuter". Check the other video. Sounds an awful lot like a four-stroke weed-eater, but don't let that sway your confidence. The little machine soars. So much fun.

Nov 18, 2008 - Just teasin' ya about the landing, Dad. (For non-pilots: the SixChuter can't land on a paved runway: the asphalt would shred the chute. Most ultralight craft are made to land on grass. We meant to set down beside the runway:)
