Nov 18, 2008 - All hats off to Peter Singer. The first seeds of animal rights movements was sowed in the East (modern day northern India) where philosophies like Buddhism and Jainism (they are atheistic philosophies on contrary to the popular belief that they being religions) advocate compassion for all beings and their reciprocal right to this earth. And that was more than 2500 years ago!!!!
