Nov 18, 2008 - Ugh isn't that a bitch?I have a couple of friends who are into the same music as me - as far as folk and alot of music from the 60's and 50's.But I have nobody to relate to when it goes to the 20's 30's 40's. I looked up Redmond O'Toole. I like his style of playing. It's clean and I felt like sitting in my room with candles all around while sipping a cup 'o' tea. Ha thanks for that.Good luck to you to! I hope you find someone.

Nov 18, 2008 - Y'all might like Dan Hicks, who I deem to be this era's version.

sihingjimo Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Say, Now you mention it, you're Right!! Never thought of that....

SyberkaPL Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I have different version of this songs, with orchestra.

pokbacsi100 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Rick, this piece has a melancholy flavor, but there are also many pieces by Django that arefeverishly upbeat, some happy, some aggressive, some even angry, some with bravado, some a combination of these, and many are explosive at some point(s) as well, but the common denominator in all his music no matter how fast he was playing, was beauty, something I haven't heard anyone else achieve, and as a guitarist myself I listen to them from all genres.

SyberkaPL Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Yeah. Nobody record Django's song better than Django!

WhiskeyyWoman Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Exactley.

WhiskeyyWoman Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - **Exactly.

dnteatylwsno Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Yes and love them all. Stephane, Django, and Dan. Was never fortunate enough see Stephane or Django in person. But Mr. Hicks I try to catch whenever he's in the Philadelphia region for years

knitedemon Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - i still find it hard to believe,he could play all this stuff with only two fingers...

greenconfusion86 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - He still had his fingers, the tendons in his two little fingers were shrunken in a caravan fire while saving his young wife after the wax flowers she sold accidently went ablaze. The accident would leave those two fingers crippled, but he kept playing, still utilizing the two fingers with his middle and pointer positioning them where needed.

greenconfusion86 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - but mostly just those two fore-fingers did all that magic.amazing

obleix2000 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I really wish he lived as long as Stephan did.

consityis Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - he could also partily move the others to make some cords but thats amazing
