Nov 18, 2008 - Man I totally agree!!!It's like when weightlifters say you have to eat protein to build protein (muscles).. What the H3LL do cows do? they're full of muscle and don't 'eat' protein.Cholesterol is created by the liver. I think you should be a lot more firm AGAINST most drugs. They are all a blanket on an underlying cause. Fix the cause and the symptom(s) that the drug addresses will go away.High cholesterol is ELIMINATED through fasting. YOU DON'T NEED DRUGS!!!Great vid, Mike.

Nov 18, 2008 - Thanks for the honesty! You are 100% right! You should look into the "Lemonade Fast". Written in the 70's the fast (Stanley Burroughs, I think) - It can reverse so many of our current ailments... Not sure about the diabetes, but I know some individuals have proven that it can be cured... Your body wants to operate healthy.. It just needs to be given a chance...
jgelhaar Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - No two people are the same... Genetics, etc... Look into a fast for your friend. It will cure his high cholesterol. Stanley Burroughs, "The Master Cleanse" - of course consult your doctor, etc., but I can tell you they won't know a thing about it. do some research on the Internet about fasting and read that book... It will convince you of the benefits. If you don't believe it, one can continue taking drugs that don't work, except to benefit shareholder value.

Nov 18, 2008 - Thanks for the education. I have not had this as a "problem" but now I understand why you hear so much about it as it is an obvious money-maker for the drug companies. Self-knowledge is always the best beginning of Wisdom.
quarterduce Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Actually the drug he is taking has worked very well. The concern was not heart problems but inflamed pancreas, which is a very bad thing. Yes I do seriously doubt that not eating for a time is going to fix that kind of problem.
jgelhaar Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Drugs mainly subdue symptoms of underlying problems.. They don't 'fix' anything. That was my main point.Just because a perceived benefit is derived by ingesting a particular drug does not make it okay to consume.
jgelhaar Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - At one time, all doctors were taught that drugs, at their essence, are poison. The 'key', so they were taught, was to administer that poison for benefit while still understanding it's root is poison.

Nov 18, 2008 - This country needs to wake up to the insane over prescribing that is going on. If one has a thorn in their toe, the best thing to do is remove the thorn so the toe can heal. In this country, instead, fancy wheelchair salesmen tell the physician that a wheelchair will relieve the pain to make the patient relieved. This is a bad example, I know, but in this country, it's even worse because the physicians are falling for it.

Nov 18, 2008 - Oh yeah! Look up "Dr. Matthew bad cholesterol." He explains the truth about cholesterol and he talks about how chlorine damages the artery. This is why I use shower filters and a reverse osmosis filter for when I cook.

Nov 18, 2008 - That is a NEW one! Your liver might fail? I would have laughed in his face! Statin Drugs can DAMAGE your liver! What a dumb doctor...The usual line is "If you don't take this drug you will have a heart aatck and DIE!"
Meowmie707 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - My previous post was a response to one on page 3 or 4 where someone doctor told them if they didn't take it, it would ruin their liver... sorry it ended up here...

Nov 18, 2008 - When I was put on Lipitor I had severe problems! Muscle weakness and pain, far worse than my "high chol" number (220ish) Turns out I am FINE with no statin drugs... years later my #'s go up and down and I am fine. I had a ultrasound of my arteries and they are CLEAN even with high chol #'s! Its not the #'s it is IF you have plaque build up in the veins!

Nov 18, 2008 - grats! You think exactly the way Big Pharma wants you to think, now step up and volunteer to get a corporate tattoo to show your support, faith and trust in the all knowing and compassionate Pharma Industry. They are always truthful with studies and they never conceal research that shows their stuff is ineffective or dangerous. Their drugs never have intolerable side effects and Big Pharma is never wrong! /sarcasmoff

Nov 18, 2008 - Lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) is the real enemy.MORE VIT C -> MORE CO-Q10 -> LOWER Lp(a) MORE STATINS -> LESS CO-Q10 -> HIGHER Lp(a)Daily protocol to cure CVD:1. 3-6g Vitamin C (for CA colligen repair)2. 3g L-lysine (binds Lp(a))3. 2000mg Proline (lowers elevated Lp(a))4. Eliminate all trans/hydrogenated fats and heat processed veg oils5. 14 grams (tbsp) fish oil6. Eliminate all sugar & processed carbs7. Exercise 30min/day8. Eat fish, free range meats, vegetables & fruits
pam0077 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - If you find that you absolutely must improve your LDL/HDL/triglyceride ratio, get a bottle of SloNiacin (500mg/100 tab nicotinic acid) for about $12 at Walmart before deciding to use statins.Take 500mg to 1.5g of the nicotinic acid daily. Tell your physician if you take more than 500mg.Also, take 2000-5000IU Vitamin D3 gel-caps daily (not the hard tablet.) Dose depends on whether you use fish oil. Most everyone is deficient in D3. It will help stop coronary plaque growth in its tracks.
