From "The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya" english dub from Bandai and Bang Zoom Entertainment. Here's the official english dub of the insert song "God Knows..." originally performed by Aya Hirano, but adapted into english with vocals by Wendee Lee (both of whom voiced the main character Haruhi Suzumiya in their respective versions).I was caught off guard when I first watched this and was actually quite pleased they did this, since it had been quite a while since anime dubbing companies went the extra mile to dub any songs into english, so it came as a nice bonus. And Wendee Lee did a pretty good job in my opinion. Of course, I'm sure the dub-bashers will say otherwise.-------------------"The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya" is copyright to Bandai Ent. and I make no claim as to owning it myself and this is posted here for non-profit reasons.EDIT:The lip sync doesn't look so good on this video mostly because of YouTube's compression of some videos. I tried to fix it myself, but for some reason it kept getting screwed up. The syncing is actually much better than it's shown here.

Nov 18, 2008 - Wendee Lee isn't even a singer shes a voice actor so she kinda of did this of hand not being a signer and just went for it. I love the Jap version but I also love the dubbed one I think Its really good.
LAAGShadow Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - well true the subs are obviously in sync better then dubs. and they dub every thing because of Haruhi's wide fan base and weaboos would wine if they didn't dub it and if they did dub it then weaboos would complain how "its not as good as the original." so no one is happy except for people that take it for what it is and appreciate it.
sploonz Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Oh god, Sorry but the Japanese version is way better. This just sounds . . . wrong. Really off.
DenmiSama Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - You are absolutely right. :) It's true that nobody will never truly be satisfied. I appreciate the effort... I just wish it was better! ^^;
ToNeS1337 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - It's not that bad, but it doesn't have that strong voice when singing.

Nov 18, 2008 - This superior version blows Cristina Vee's version out of the water. The latter's one is just plain terrible.

Nov 18, 2008 - I feel this voice actors does a lot of anime. Then again, the voice actor for the male character is in a lot as well. Of course it's not going to be AS good because it's a Japanese song...not an English one...so the lyrics just don't flow quite as well. But I was happy that they dubbed it either way. The consistency would be terrible if they just left it in Japanese. "Wow...she learned Japanese real fast."

Nov 18, 2008 - i kinda liked the line "god bless the two of us" from the Japanese version but it was pulled off nicely
NettoSaito Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - they did a really good job! normally you dont see subs dubbed so well, really overall i thought this whole anime was dubbed nicely. some voices i thought were a bit strange but i still really liked it.

Nov 18, 2008 - I love these lyrics. I like her voice (not with this kind of song....or for Haruhi) I guess this is growing on me.
cww1988 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Rock n' roll star, thy name is Haruhi Suzumiya
TensaiIshida Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - This is actually a really great dub I didn't expect it to even be anywhere close but guess you just proved me wrong there. To my ears Japanese still sounds better as that's what my ears are fixed to and that's the original version but the dubbing people did great.
BoomStickMedia Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Honestly, i think she sounds a little off on some parts, don't you think? Don't really like like some of the lyrics, but its cool to hear it in english.
DenmiSama Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - ... the sub version is way better! It flows with the song sounds more authentic. (( Which is natural since the song originated for the Japanese tongue. )) But I don't see why they have to DUB EVERY SINGLE THING - including the insert songs! They should just put the translation on the bottom as she's singing.
