Nov 18, 2008 - Incderible talents of the past......

PaulinaRena Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - These are incredibly talented musicians. I could listen to Merle Travis pick all day - not something this fast paced though. I always preferred his pickin' over Chet Atkins'. My musician husband had a 12 string guitar - about the same time Glen Campbell got his - and could pick the fire out of "Wildwood Flower" on it. Was this video made sometime around the 50's do you think? - Paula

jamesabilly Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - He was talking about Jerry Reed but I prefer Maphis to him myself.

Tillick Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Good ol' boys.

negtype13 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - You know Rush did this same thing live around 80'. Alex and Geddy Playing one double neck for Xanadu. I wonder if they got the idea from Maphis and Collins. Probably did.

ffairlane57 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Huh? This is not even the same genre. Rush plays progressive rock, Merle plays hillbilly & country of the 1950's.

negtype13 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - OK, I didn't comment on the genre. I was speaking of the idea of 2 guys playing the same double neck.

howardstern666 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I love Joe and Larry's double necks. Kinda looks like conjoined twins!
