Quorthon from Bathory once said on an interview that one of his major influences on Bathory's early albums was GBH.If it wasn't for this union of metal + punk we wouldn't have thrash metal.And of course, I guess the very first band to blend those styles is a band that influenced a SHITLOAD of bands that came after: Motörhead.So you see, punk and metal are more related than you'd think.
