bdhact1 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Is that the early Eagles backing her up ? the guy with the shaker looks like Glen Frey.

softshoes Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - That's not Frey or The Eagles though they did play with her on a number of those early songs.

Madrocker1954 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - That's Kenny Edwards (who was one of the Stone Poneys) on bass, Dan Dugmore on steel guitar and lead/rhythm guitar. I suspect the drummer is Andrew Gold, who was a member of Linda's band then and who normally played lead guitar but could play virtually every instrument, an amazing one man band. I don't recognize the guy playing harmonica and I believe there was another party playing piano. Ronstadt's guitar playing was pretty good since by her own admission, hadn't touched a guitar in years.

Madrocker1954 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Buddy's version was good and he was an influence on Linda's music. However, this is one of the few songs Holly didn't write. This song was written by Paul Anka, the same guy who wrote "(You're) Having My Baby," a fact which still scares three decades after the fact!

andyinoregon Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Definitely not Glenn Frey but I'm sure that's the great Kenny Edwards of Bryndle fame playing bass.

landrykkb Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I love this version because Linda gave it a life of her own.

winknfry Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - What a voice! Thank You!

CreativeCritisizm Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - no that looks like Rod Stewart.

CreativeCritisizm Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Paul Anka knew Buddy Holly ?

alancastrian Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Paul gave the song to Buddy as he was going into the recording studio, and Buddy made a rush recording of it.

angieguerrero37 Says:
