Nov 18, 2008 - I hear you man, hope you made out ok, and don't want you to think I was or am downplaying the damage caused. It was serious, although my reflections at the time were more self-concerned with my "spraying oil out" and shit. Like that was important. I did'nt realize the severity at the time. That fire raged on for weeks and weeks did'nt it.

Nov 18, 2008 - Yea it went on for about a month, I got to drive through it every day to work. I lived on the Anchorage side so we were okay till it rounded out past Nenana and started to come back. But all in all that was a pretty sweet fire to see. It was just the first day that was bad for us, we didn't know which way it was going, but fortunately it went the other way :).

Nov 18, 2008 - My friend Dave just moved up to Alaska in April to fight fires. He'd be one of the smoke jumpers you are talking about. He said it's definitely fire season up there right now. This makes me scared for him just watching it. :( I just cannot believe a fire can go on for a month....that's just out of my realm of thought!!! SCARY..!!!
