Nov 18, 2008 - what drives randi is the fact that con-men like uri take advantage of the stupid and those who've lost a loved one. these bastards then exploit those emotions and ignorance for a profit.i also think randi lost his wife and probably cant stand it when people swear they have a connection with the spirit world. houdini was the exact same way.i feel safer that theres magicians out there protecting us from the psychics.
pompodore Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - I love Randi - he is awesome
BobinTell Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Wow, I also want to be a great psychotic like Uri!
gsus113 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Your ruining the act of a kind man that just wants to amaze people. It's not like people start believing in superhuman powers just because a random israeli passes by and bends a spoon. Why don't we start ruining all fun acts by writing a book about it? How does Discovery channel ONLY on tv sound?Just let Uri Geller do his thing. Of course his 'amazing talents' are tricks. No reasonable person believes in superhuman powers. Seems to me Randi is wasting his time.
roddiero Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Uri is a third rate 'magician' whose real talent is in convincing people he's psychic. In other words, he's not much different from a con artist. As Randi says, if he hadn't convinced people he was psychic through deceit, he would be one in a million.
tenfor104 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - E.g. entertaining people by earning huge money - but without hurting or offending anybody. Everybody has the right to believe what they want. Would you start explaining the true origin of the Bible to a catholic?
fishmeats Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - why does James Randi hate Uri Geller so much?
JohannFab Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - BECOUS URI IS FAKE!!!
MrSifter8 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - gsus113 - you're missing the point. Geller has made MILLIONS by deceiving people. claiming he has supernatural powers. He isn't claiming to be a stage magician like David Copperfield, who just does glamorous illusions. That's different. Randi exposes him because Geller claims to be different, to be truly gifted, supernatural. He's a charlatan and needed exposing. He goes after 'psychics' and 'mediums' too. God bless people like Randi.
MrSifter8 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - There is nothing innocent or 'kind' about these psychics/mediums. They make money from lies and being fakes. They are disgusting. Those who tell people that missing relatives are dead, or pretend to speak to dead relatives in exchange for hundreds of pounds a time, want stringing up. This is the thin end of the wedge. Randi is doing great work.
789123Y Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - No, Uri Geller is not magician at all, hes just a fake psychic.
789123Y Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - okiskills, i agree with you completely. Its a good thing that magicians reveal the methods of psychics that claim to be real. Magic and illusion is a wonderful thing, wonderful entertainment, but only when the performer admits its and illusion.
789123Y Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - MrSifter8, i agree with you also. There is nothing bad with illusionists and magicians, like David Copperfield. They admit its only an illusion, and people still come to the magic shows and enjoy it. They enjoy it because it LOOKS like magic, not because think it IS real magic.
afromanex Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - ye ol office is a bit messy eh?
meekman2008 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Science cannot prove any supernatural powers, science works with limited protocols. Can scientist see the Wind or the air?Randi is taking advantage of this fact to make money.
meekman2008 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - People be smart, their is a difference between a debunker and a professional scientist, hello!
meekman2008 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - How is it possible to use a mirror in your hands and see from that direction. Oh maybe Randi is also saying that all these people are selling themselves too?Maybe they should also sue Randi. Randi is a hater fool of jealousy and hungry for approval, notice how he uses sarcasm and mockery.
meekman2008 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - super natural powres don't work all the time and that is not evidence that you are right Randi. What a remarkable excuse Randi
meekman2008 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Wow i have never seen a table that big on a tv show that is so funny, your full of shit.Randi wants to use his experience based on some of his real exposures as a platform to take advantage on every one to make money. Clearly you said you are using trickery, thnx
meekman2008 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - i'm a magician and it would be impossible to see whats not facing you while using a mirror.Get it. people draw with paper facing them, hello!
speakintelligently Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Anyone can observe wind. There are many tests to prove wind exists because wind is physically observable. Observation is really what science is about.Supernatural powers have observable results and no observable causes. Therefore, the simplest way to prove the existence of a supernatural power is to reveal an effect with no observable cause. If supernatural powers existed, they would be very easy to prove. To date, all tests involving supernatural powers have revealed quite natural causes.
meekman2008 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - How can you observe something you cant physically see; only the effects of the wind is observable.
meekman2008 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Randi if you are so dedicated about exposing people go after the authors, coaches and movie makers of the Secret, don't you think the philosophy of the L.O.A. has had more psychological effect on people more then anything, go after the new age.I suggest going after gov. remote viewers. The earth existed before science, there are still lots of things we have not yet discovered.
TheRealQwertyMaster Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - In 1994 me and my family watched one of Mr. Geller's shows. He "told" us to hold a bunch of keys and, with the same hand, take a spoon by its thinnest part and hold it with one's thumb and index finger. He said we should focus on the spoon. Then, he "told" us to open our hand (that happened to be my sister's) and all of our keys have been twisted...
ThePsychoReturns Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Uri is a fraud and you are an idiot.
