http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=4832471&page=1ELISABETH LEAMYABC NewsMay 12, 2008 The 50 U.S. states are holding more than $32 billion worth of unclaimed property that they're supposed to safeguard for their citizens. But a "Good Morning America" investigation found some states aggressively seize property that isn't really unclaimed and then use the money — your money — to balance their budgets.Unclaimed property consists of things like forgotten apartment security deposits, uncashed dividend checks and safe-deposit boxes abandoned when an elderly relative dies.Banks and other businesses are required to turn that property over to the state for safekeeping. The problem is that the states return less than a quarter of unclaimed property to the rightful owners.

Nov 18, 2008 - The Cali counties are equally corrupt, one game is automatically re-assessing the home of an elderly person should their spouse or parent die. They 'partially' reassess to stay below the radar of complaint, but this is blatant elder abuse. Cali, the home of blatant CHILD ABUSE, in the schools, ELDER abuse built in the 'system'. This 'system' works with collusion with organized crime. It's just plain astonishing how corrupt the schools, the county and the state actually are. (disgraceful)

Nov 18, 2008 - This is why I will never put any important papers or gold, family heirlooms, etc. in a safety deposit box. This is part of the Communist Manifesto...it's all about slowly soaking up property until there are a few feudal lords.

Nov 18, 2008 - Iran would NEVER bomb England....There are far too many of their brothers living there now. As for the Roths-childs I don't think anyone would be able to find out where they live these days.

ninetybills Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - haha you want buckshot on your pizza?

ninetybills Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Good ole Bank of America, if nothing else we can count on our banking behemoths to spy on us and seize or freeze anything they can. After all, if they don't tell the IRS where all our money is they can't earn interest on all those treasuries they hold. As Reagan found out, most of the Federal Income Tax goes to pay interest to these bankers anyways.

thefreedommovement Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - bank of america treated me like royalty when my account was hacked, 2 purchases of 99cents each over drafted my account (so $22 fine on each of those). and, since i thought that account was shut down after calling to stop the payment and close it; you could imagine my shock when i tried to open a bank account 4 years later and found out i'm "blacklisted", because B.O.A. has charged me $7 a day... for that entire time... 4 years... without notifying me of the charges.hooray for dickhead banks.
