Nov 18, 2008 - It's funny because "Kimigaiyo" (the Japanese national anthem) is not looked very favorably upon by most Japanese, so I guess I can understand it being mocked!! The reason, as I`ve been told by many Japanese, is that it`s lyrics are very out of date/reflect pre-modern thinking, and that it has some (perhaps remotely) negative associations with the militaristic behavior of the Japanese gov`t during the Meiji period and subsequent empirialism of WWII!

Nov 18, 2008 - this is indeed a unique version of the song. personally, I heard it back in 02 and I learned the lyrics very quickly with it. I also noticed that the Star Spangled Banner was in it as well, pretty fun.
