Translation:I have paced up and down, have walked, have been wrong, have cried [and now] have understoodI have gone crazy, have longed, have felt insecure, have been anxiousI've slept on the sofa you've sat on, [slept over] the music you loveMine, yours, hers, the good, the bad, the difficult times, the sorrowThe things I really wanted to forget were absolutely unforgettable[This] Train to Jade Island has carried me for so many days now Suddenly I've realized [that] at this moment, I no longer think of you...My happiness will returnSo long as I'm clear how profound our love wasI will not allow myself to ask if it was worthy or notLeaving was not a matter of one gives a choice to another...

Nov 18, 2008 - Sorry, but taiwanese isn't like mandarin at all, except in grammatical structure and cognates. It's nothing like an american accent and a british accent, it's more like english and spanish. One party absolutely cannot another if they speak mandarin/taiwanese respectively, though they might catch a few similar sounding words.

Nov 18, 2008 - isn't it call Cantonese?
Sakabak Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Definitely not Cantonese. Although Taiwanese sounds similar to Cantonese in the way it's spoken, it's completely different.

Nov 18, 2008 - the song means My HappinessMandarin is the standard Chinese spoken in Taiwan and China, the official language.Cantonese are mostly spoken by the Hong Kong people...I remember a friend told me that the 1st Emperor of China, Shih Huang Ti (the Yellow Emperor) codified the written language, so regardless of which Chinese dialect you are, you can read the Chinese character.. the pronounciation maybe different between the dialects (say Mandarin or Cantonese) but it has the same meaning
realistic2280 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - its like English is spoken by many races, but they way they speak it might be different esp heavily accented people like Korean and Taiwanese entertainers, who do not study English.. heheh..
debbiemon Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - hey!why is ming dao in here? =)
jadedvalley Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - yes but also remember that mandarian uses simplified chinese while cantonese uses traditionalalso cantonese doesn't have pinyin, the romanization of characters
