Nov 18, 2008 - hmm i agree with you, do not like her vibrato. She kind of sounds a little like Mado robin. Also, her trills are a bit sloppy.

tamerlano Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Is she lip synching?

nizammajid Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - i never heard of her till i browse all videos about her... she's very nice and great voice!!

sour7lemon Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - It sure looks like it, but I'm not sure

ferdecla Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Not bad???? only that???? Have you any idea how many years you have to study for singing in this level??? How arrogant in the ignorance!!! I like her brivato, and the last note was perfectly done, I swer (please escuse my horrible english)

Iareto Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I did say "imo" (which means IN MY OPINION). It is an opinion. I personally would not listen to her by choice. That's all I'm saying. I've said many times that both her and Damrau have incredible instruments...but they just are not for ME. That's it. It's just an opinion. I'm not arrogant or ignorant.

ferdecla Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Im so sorry (I knew my eglish was a problem!!!) I didn't know what "imo" was. Evidently I was the ignorant!!!:-)

Grandtenore Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Yeah...you're right...it makes her voice sound a bit chirpy. I'm not crazy about it. I think it may be by-product of French coloratura technique. Mesple and Robin have that kinda sound, and so do some of the sopranos I've heard educated in French technique. Oddly, however, I LOVE Mady Mesple.

Iareto Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I do too! I can't stand a lot of the twittery French sopranos, but Mesple is awesome.

magda26967 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Milosa & miracolosa

pirocagrande Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - she's SOUBRETTE stretching her voice to it's limits!!! it sounds raspy, rhe vocal chords in total tension to produce the high tones..she should be doing the lyric coloratura, not the coloratura parts. Now that's just what I think...she's afterall hired to sing Queen of the Night..and I do not know SHIT! LOL

homokliliom Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - She was an athlet in Hungary, but now she is the Queen of the Night in Met/one of the bests/

europelove Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - she is awful

ASTROCUB Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - most beautiful singer most awful interpretaion!!! what a dress but she forgot her vibrato at home!!

sschimel Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - The interpretation is awful. There is no sense at all of what the character is supposed to be doing in this scene. Lakme's father is forcing her to sing this to lure her English boyfriend out of the crowd gathered around her. However, I think she sings it extremely well. And I agree that there is a very French sound. Lily Pons, Mady Mesple, Mado Robin, Dessay, and even Massis to a certain extent all have it. Rapid vibrato and an extremely high extension, I love Mesple.

00ceroalaizquierda00 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Lo que más me gusta de ella es la cara de gilipoyas que pone cuando canta... -.-" por lo demás bastante bien

garconfrancais01 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - her vibrato is too fast.

123Niche Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - It is stupid to say that Lakmé is forced by his father to sing this aria, and that this interpretation is not correct, because here opera is not given in full, it is only a short excerpt. Your critic is valid, if the opera was fully represented.

sschimel Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - But the aria represents a character, whether or not it's being presented in a full production. By that argument, someone singing a scene from Wagner or Werther could also smile and flirt their way through it, even it if that interpretation were antithetcal to the character or opera.

daphnebeloved Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Hey, piroca grande, you really understand voice, i share the same opinion, I think she does not natural fluided voice, her vibrato is forced, and her hight notes are raspy, forced, streched, pointy, if she sang on stage, without microphone, it would sound thin and pointy.

singinciaran Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Nicely done!

bic1787 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - she's gorgeous.

mrtyles Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - she's the only opera singer who i like to watch.

fundfreq Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - i agree. her jaw looks tense, too.

branko1b Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - lol - "i don't get the idea of 'forced vibrato' -a coloratura ornaments are meant to sound (if one is not Sutherland) unnatural - that is the nature of them. Miklosa has no vibrato(in a sense of undesirable oscillations on the note) which is, by the way, a great thing for a singer not to have, she is not Sutherland or Moffo, or ... but is a real singer, by far better than some media made 'stars' (by the way 'vibrato' is Natalie's and Sumi's domain)re 'strained jaw'- huh-lol-no space for comment
