Nov 18, 2008 - Well think about it. The song is call Back in Black, I meant to show my trip back at Scranton, but another thing about it is the color black on the locomotives, get it? But still, you might have a point.

Engineer5344 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - true, well i guess the song does blend with the video. but it's till good though

Nov 18, 2008 - I kinda feel sorry for some of the equipment that almost looks like in the worst condition ever. Especially the shay, they'll never bring that back.

Nov 18, 2008 - I volunteer at Steamtown and the 759 is as dead as dead can be. The engine was left outside and filled at the end of it's excursion carrer and it froze over and every boiler tube is shot. It would cost way too much and we have no job in need of an engine that big.

Nov 18, 2008 - Hey man, "Back in Black" is a GREAT choice! Rock on brother!! And don't let anyone tell you different!

Driverman2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Yeah man! "Back in Black" was an awesome choice for this video! I've been to Steamtown before, and it's an awesome place! I went there back in 1998 and 2004. So I guess the place looks a little different now in 2007.

Ham549 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - As you can see at 1:20 Steam town does a great job of "preserveing" history.

UnionPacific7004 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Well it could be the only superpower locomotive to run there. The others are still good enough to be. Why not ask if anyone else can? Isn't that what Steamtown did for 1361 until that unrelevant news of it came up?

mikes47jeep Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I don't know why people get so angry about that "cut away" engine, the boiler and tubes are paper thin and the rear driving wheels are about 80% weld because they shattered when it was in operation, this locomotive was destine for scrap and Steamtown got it and figured it could be used for a learning tool instead of being chopped up and recycled

docsavage408 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Thanks for the video the song was KICK ASS!!! Went well with all those great pics!!

gw90isback Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - BACK IN BLACK! AC/DC! ROCK ON!

teflondon22 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - When did Steamtown and the National Park service switch from preservation to practicality?

lennyos Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - never really. we still do the same old stuff. We just have enough problems keeping the funding for the ones we have to run thatn worrying about the bulls**t of attempting another restoration.

fFcyctyCyC Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I went to Steamtown yesterday. Alot of the Cars are just sitting there rotting away, alot of the trains are rust covered. Its sad to see.

HaloCE14 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - This is a great music choice. And they are already bringing back a Locomotive from the sightn seeing area. Its not the Big Boys but i would be stunned if they brung that back

HaloCE14 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - besides they probaly will get more spear parts and be able to bring back some of the locomotives

Jsusfrk20 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - At least 1361 will return to the rails, the new manager at Altoona said that enough's enough, they'll bring her back in pieces but leave the boiler there so it can be inspected and reparied and then they'll put her back together again for excursion runs, he said he wants nothing more than to see that piece of history start running again so that's definitely good news. I hope so because when it does return I'm going to be the first one to buy a ticket!Forever Steam!

Nov 18, 2008 - At 2:47 is that Baldwin #26?

UnionPacific7004 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - yes.

trainboy94 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Good video!!!!!!!! The only thing negative I can say about it is that there's no good picture of 47.:(

edv37 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - they just might with enough support bring back a bigboy

edv37 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - wish they could've saved more steam locomotives instead of cutting them up.alot of great locos are gone the t-3, the streamlined hudsons, and pacifics as well as the streamlined milwaukee railroad steamers, the cab forwards,q-4b,niagras,mohawks,ect

yourweathertodayHD Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - at 2:00 CN 3377, sister to 3254, is now an 0-8-0. Theyve been canibalizing her to keep '54 in action. But from what I here they eventually want to have new parts for '77 so they can restore here to be a good static display.

hoscaletrains500 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Great video! But Steamtown needs to take it into consideration that they have some of the rarest steam locomotives in north america just rotting away (example: cp #2929,DL&W #565, reading t-1, etc.) And They should atleast repair everything cosmetically.... But anyways, Great video! 5/5 stars!
