Nov 18, 2008 - Edguy is not by any means generic power metal ! The last two albums blow any music away lately ! Kansas and Deep Purple had like a couple of good songs. Edguy put together a couple of magical albums where just about every song kicked butt. Generic power metal is Kamelot, Stratovarious, Iced Earth, Hammerfall, Blind Guardian, and Sonata Artica. Edguy combines traditional metal with a little extra. Twists and turns everywhere and bombastic elements. Can't wait for new album

Nov 18, 2008 - To be honest with you, I think Axel is not the best solo player out there. Said that, I have to bow to the MASTER (with capitals) of the Melodic Rock. This guy composes melodies that could make you jump and sing along when you listen to them, I absolutely love it, but he should maybe stick a little bit more to a melodic solo (like at the beginning) rather than trying to do it fast. The song: Awesome.

Nov 18, 2008 - All those bands have nothing over Edguy. If you heard Edguy's last two albums it's more traditional metal than power. Blind Guardian and those other bands could not write albums like Hellfire Club and Rocket Ride. All they do is stick to the same crap that they have been doing. Edguy stole the show when they toured with cheesy ass Kamelot. Most power metal bands songs all sound the same. Edguy has much more to offer.

Nov 18, 2008 - I have listened to Blind Guardian many times and there is not that much talent there. It's a lot of the same riffs over and over again. Also there choruses are out of whack half the time and they sound like a bunch of drunken pirates sailing the seven seas. Everybody has there own taste so i'm not trying to be a prick. Just can't get into them.

Tobias Sammet forgets the lyrics half the time and both Jens and Dirk have NOTHING on BG's guitarists. I've literally never seen Andre make the slightest mistake live. His timing is always spot on. If you don't like BG, that's fine, but don't try to tell me for one minute that they aren't a talented band.
