Boeingpilot747 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Ya i think they are

Tiqootje Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - If the pilot would use all 4 engines to run at full speed, the brakes will start to steam. That's why it only uses 2 engines for a short period of time. It will not tear up the runway, but it will distroy the brakes/tires of the plane.

darnitalltohell Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I like how they used the LOTR soundtrack for this.

wallace84st Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - if the parking brakes are set one engine at ful power is not sufficient to move the heavy weight of the 747

Boeingpilot747 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - That is correct. only one of the engines produces 58,000 pounds of thrust. This is enough power for it to go about 40 knots down the runway.

TwnFlyBoy747 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - from the EICAS it showed De-rate thrust plus assumed temperature +50C was using on 2 inboard engines (no2 and no3), which means engines were definitely NOT in "full power" as the host mentioned....

umpalumpa101909 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - because they havent had permission from virgin atlantic to show it on national tv, so they blank it out
