Nov 18, 2008 - Wow! Large crackers. I live in Scotland and have only found the smaller ones. I've also found they can be cooked in the microwave but have to be watched as they only take about 35 seconds before they burn.

Nov 18, 2008 - Cool.. where did you get that nice little frying pot with the curved top?
mikikaoru Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Just from the local home store (in Tokyo mind). I thought the thermometer that pokes through the hole in it is pretty cool too.

Nov 18, 2008 - Mmm, I love fresh prawn crackers. Usually buy them bagged though. But the difference from being cooking at home, taste better!

Nov 18, 2008 - Have none of you ever seen a prawn cracker before!?! You are all acting all amazed for some reason.

Nov 18, 2008 - It appears they're never seen one being made, no.

Nov 18, 2008 - Wow, fast reply! For any viewers that haven't ever made them, I suggest you go to the shops (or Asian market) and buy some packaged prawn crackers. Just put the uncooked prawn cracker into deep fryer or pot of oil and in seconds it will float and it is done. Eat warm. After this look up a recipe on home made prawn crackers (and you don't have to add prawn, you can add whatever you like really), then you will be ready to be a Prawn Hero!

Nov 18, 2008 - My favorite prawn crackers is:Aloha Sidoarjo Prawn Crackers, which is a product special from Indonesia. To be more efficient we usually use a bigger frying unit. Prawn crackers do taste better when being cooked at home.
