First of all, I would like to invite you, very respectfully, to those who have not read this book, to read it. Noam Chomsky, one of the most prestigious American and world intellectuals. Noam Chomsky. And this is one of his most recent books, "Hegemony or Survival." "Hegemony or Survival: The Imperialist Strategy of the United States." It's an excellent book to help us understand what has been happening in the world throughout the 20th century, and what's happening now, and the greatest threat looming over our planet. The hegemonic pretensions of the American empire are placing at risk the very survival of the human species. We continue to warn you about this danger and we appeal to the people of the United States and the world to halt this threat, which is like a sword hanging over our heads. I had considered reading from this book, but, for the sake of time I will just leave it as a recommendation. It reads easily, it is a very good book, I'm sure Madame [President] you are familiar with it. It appears in English, in Russian, in Arabic, in German. I think that the first people who should read this book are our brothers and sisters in the United States, because their threat is right in their own house. - from transcript Hugo Chavez at the UN

Nov 18, 2008 - at least you can spell that word hey smart guy?

echisenefrega Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - jeffmagic32: I wonder what can someone who listen that shitty music like you do comes searching here?

jeffmagic32 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - rest assured, all those great musicians were killed by the communists - All while Mr. Chomsky cheered the killers on.

luijoc Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Didn't you know? Dictators don't lose referendums.

KafkaCrow Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - What rights might they be? Oh right! The "righs" of a small minority to own property! Ah!

echisenefrega Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - jeffmagic32: great musicians...hahahaha, you idiot!

echisenefrega Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - luijoc: & idiots never die

jeffmagic32 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - well, you can be happy because they're all dead thanks to the communists, with Mr. Chomsky cheering the killers on all the while.

jeffmagic32 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - It makes sense you would have contempt for a glorious music made in a foreign land - you think your culture is superior to all others, and that poor people need your wise guidance, just like all communists.

echisenefrega Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - jeffmagic32: you think you can talk like that telling nothing, haven't never read Chomsky, knowing nothing but crap, just like all idiots

jeffmagic32 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - It's hard to figure out the meaning of your poorly written sentences, but I have given it my best shot. I have read Chomsky, and he is an apologist for mass murderers. Now feel free to hurl another personal insult my way, for that seems to be your only tactic when arguing.

echisenefrega Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - jeffmagic32: we say when the cat cannot catch the mouse he says that he is not hungry

ZardexM Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - "Chavez ever voluntarily relinquishes his power"What? ... You obviously do not follow the news.

jeffmagic32 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - first, both men are rats. I just want them to return to the the filthy holes from which they sprang.

scythelord Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Churchill was the greatest orator of the 20th century. He was a true leader. Many, many people need to learn from him.

shanewhite Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - i dont think chomsky ever cheered on the death of Cambodians? Infact in his own words he stated it was mass murder? I presume ur referring to his early skepticisms about the actual number of people killed by the Khmer Rouge considering the sources these figures were obtained? He still believed it was genocide?? i think ur distorting facts here to get ur point across? no offense intened of course.

jeffmagic32 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - The sources included refugee accounts, which Chomsky chose to ignore, because these accounts didn't jive with his propaganda model. Instead, he generally relied upon official Khmer Rouge accounts. While Chomsky was trying to discredit refugee accounts, the KR killed 2 million people.

hyroglyphx Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Chomsky should stick to being a linguist. His conspiratorial rants are utterly meaningless, other than it drips with Socialist agendas.

andid Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - He's more popular in the political sphere than the linguistic, and you know it. Linguistics help him decipher the confusing verbal world of politics, but it's Noam fucking Chomsky: his opinions are valid.America is already heavily socialist, with health care being one of the only privatized services left. Our leaders and media have literally flipped most political definitions...conservative, liberal, socialist. Makes it hard to have a political talk at all unless you go outside the country.

hyroglyphx Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Yes, of course he is more popular in the political sphere. I wouldn't dispute that. I just happen to think that his views are always seen thru lenses of victims and victimizers, just like all good communists. While I agree that many services are socialized, detrimentally so (see public school system), public healthcare is a disaster waiting to happen. Look what is happening in Europe and in Candada. They cannot sustain what is promised, and as a result, the people suffer the most.

ironwork92000 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - What I'd like to know is where did Chavez lie about what the government is doing to us? What sucks is that he is an outsider that is telling us how much we're being fucked over, and we still won't open our eyes to the stark truth that we're all being set up to get killed by this government!

12345cantinflas Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - todos los perros ladran, pero ninguno hase nada exactamente como los cmentafios que ponen estos pendejos maricones.....

Aristeguieta Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - i hate this men he doesnt have feelings

rockotto727 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Si vas a escribir en Ingles al menos hazlo, sorete!

virindi1 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I like the fact that his rants are conspiratorial, even more so because they drip with Socialist agendas!
