Thanks!----I live near one of the busiest stretches of railroad in the U.S., so I spend a fair amount of time in my car waiting at railroad crossings. I was on my way home late one night, waiting for another train to pass, when I got the idea for this song. It's pretty folksy. Hope you like it.Coal TrainCoal train rolls by into the skyIt rattles the nightRain on the street, jazz in the airKeeping time with the lightBlack car passes by, catches her eyeIt's gone like a ghostOf all the eyes she's looked intoShe misses his the mostThe wheels roll onOne glance and it's goneHe dreamed of a ship, got his wings clippedWent down to the tracksHe wanders the roadLooking to lose the load on his backHe can go for miles with Miles and Coltrane's saxophoneThe melody soothes like her voiceand he knows he's not aloneChorusShe wonders how much he's changedHas he let his hair grow? And does he recall all the things She wants him to know? She marks the days with flowersBut she hides them awaySomehow she doubts it's enoughTo convince him to stayChorus© 2008 Leesha Harveyhttp://leeshaharvey.com

Jul 26, 2008 - Hi Leesha,You really come through on your original songs. The heart and soul are evident. Give us more good stuff like this. Too much music today is far too commercialized. This is real!BTW, who is on the harp in this one?

Jul 26, 2008 - The guitar picking, music, and lyrics all work together just perfectly. The train passing by and the rain on the windowpane enhance the mood of the song and complete the tale. Excellent work!!! I always knew your talent was special and unique. Congradulations for being featured!!!!!

Jul 26, 2008 - 'One gust and it's gone!' Glad to know there that no one was seriously hurt during recent night of tornados near you. About the train that was derailed... Can't help but wonder if it carried coal?

Jul 26, 2008 - This is wonderful, Leesha - certainly deserving of feature. You get such a great sound quality, I love it. Personally, I think your song Runyararo should be featured and number on on the commercial charts and what not. You know, to effect the world in a positive way.Peace.

Jul 26, 2008 - Um... no. In my 20s. Married with children, actually. The thing I always say about looking younger than my real age--it's a curse when I'm young, but it will be a blessing when I'm old. ;-)
