Bale is ok but represents the newer CGI Darker Genre of films being releasedJack Nicholson is still the best character portrayal from ANY batman film to date, but thats just my view on things :)

Nov 18, 2008 - Absolutely!! Just because everyone flocked over to see the movie because it was the last film to have Keith Ledger in it, he recieved all of this special praise. Not for nothing but he wasn't anything special and the director's take on Gotham City was horrible. "Realistic portrayl" my ass! Nothing beats Tim Burton's direction as he is a master of gothic content in movies. Jack plays the role of the Joker best. The 1989 release of Batman is the definitive Batman film for all to see. Nuff said.
