Nov 18, 2008 - I'm glad that the set will finally be released in the US. Hino's manga are so creepy, and I hope the movies do them justice.

Nov 18, 2008 - AVERAGE. im a horror fan, i've seen so many asian horror films esp like japanese and korean. i always watch it in the dark, alone to maximise the potential horror atmosphere. Now im a little more critical about it, its all the usual more or less blood and gore, the frightening stuff, its too predictable and i find it hardly scary to me. still cant beat the ring and grudge(j-ver) however its WORTH watching this film overall. 3/5 star

Nov 18, 2008 - You know, westerns can never truly understand asian horror, it goes so long back in time. (althought i'm western too:D) Asian horror is more messing up with mind, western movies are just killing without thinking.
dlobrown8888 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - lol this is what I meant! asian ''pschological horror'' whereas the west is more physical

Nov 18, 2008 - Hino's first movie was about nothing but a samrauri mutilating a woman in the most disgusting way possible. His second was about a Mermaid rotting away into an oozing slab of worm-infested puss. And you're saying asian horror is more "psychological" than Western horror? I think it depends more on the individual director than what country the film is made in.

Nov 18, 2008 - ..Resident evil, evil dead, scary movies... I still mean what I said... I mean, resident evil was a brilliant game by konami, but the movies sucked. Evil dead.. Not going to say anything.. Boogeyman.. Creep.. Only horror movies I like made by americans are zombie movies, but just because they're disgusting. But japanese horror is "scarier". But yep, there is always bad directors no matter where they're from..
Ashloomis Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Don't watch that modern crap, the older horror films are the way to go (I'm a fan of Evil Dead, although I like it more because it's cool than because it's scary.) Check out Rosemary's Baby, the Exorcist, the Omen (original), Peeping Tom, the Thing (both the original and remake,) David Cronenberg's the Fly, The Dead Zone, Jaws, the Silence of the Lambs, Videodrome, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the original Psycho, the Birds, the original Halloween, and the original Nosferatu.
