Nov 18, 2008 - I just think the exige and elise is nicer, how much would those cars be if lotus decided to start making electric cars instaid of petrol ones?
SSSSBlade Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - hahahaha at the end... "Oh Jesus, Mark please"
Gollywog Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - and i dont know why Ferrari can't sell their cars for $25-25k either. Like, i mean, this out performs it in acceleration ....................u idiot
RegularFool Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - well gee golly gollywog "Like, i mean". Thats faggot talk their. Go smoke a fag you aussie faggot
mkaufman17 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - there's a good reason behind that.the body was designed by lotus. haha
waicwai Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Great math moron - I didn't realise gas cars were free. AKA you forgot to include the price of buying a new high-end sports "gas" car.
Hawkins1775 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - dang, that sounds like a turbine engine from the inside.
rtsoccerplayer Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - hahahaha your car gave your car an orgasm...yea, its that good. sounds like a space ship! in a good way that is.
rtsoccerplayer Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - i meant gave your wife...
oyioyioi Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - I was going to say it a little nicer but... you got it out before i did LOL
oyioyioi Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - u want to know what you REALLY forgot to factor in?..Oil Changes, radiator failing costs (for your 30 yr old car LOL) starter parts failing, changing engine parts for your decaying 30 yr old carLOL...ok u get the point LOL @ a 30 yr old car though...engine coolant, power steering fluid, electrical problems....I could go on
ProbableHypothesis Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - I didn't factor them in because I figured they were counteracted by electric motor problems, heat exchanger failing costs, battery replacement costs, electrical problems, motor controller problems, I could go on
ProbableHypothesis Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the electric car but with the economies of the world struggling, prices must be much better than that or they will just follow the Big Three down that lonely bankrupt road. Your normal person must be able to afford one. Perhaps a body designed and manufactured by Tesla instead of Lotus could solve part of the price probs. Increased battery production would also help. Time will tell whether it's a make or break. Either way, it is the future, just who will win.
oyioyioi Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - LOLOLOLOLOL right.....jsut remember that the tesla in your senario isn't 30 yrs old like your gas car so chances of ANY of those happeneing?....next to....none! lol I"m still laughing about being proud of a 30 yr old car
ProbableHypothesis Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Where did I say that my car is 30 years old. I said it would take 30 years worth of gas at $5.00 a gallon to equal the price of this car (which is still increasing). Now that gas is under $2.00 a gallon, it would take 76 years to spend $109,000.00 on gas. All I got to say is I wish everyone would buy one then demand for gas would drop and so would the price. I could then gas up for 200+ years.
ProbableHypothesis Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Saturday night scenario:Dick, the driver of the Tesla says to his fine ass date Jen, "it's dead Jen, it needs a charge".A sleek, shiny, rumblin vette pulls up beside, Jen gets out and hops in the vette and says "see ya later limp Dick".
oyioyioi Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - I know hat you said but you would have BOUGHT another car in that amount of time therefore KILLING your theory but whatever I'm not gonna go back and forth about it if you still think that way it's because you want to
RegularFool Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Do you think this cars not going to fall apart just like any other car. Lithium ion or any other batteries don't handle shock very well. You would replace the battery pack in this car about every 7 years at $10,000 each. I'd be willing to bet this company doesn't make it through 2009.
delyshBB Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - The big three are going towards bankruptcy cuz they spend on social crap like retirement funds while Toyota doesn't. Plus, they don't have 14 hours shifts. And the big three didn't implement new things fast enough. And if real production of these cars would be desired, they'd happen. Check the ZeV thing in Cali in the early 90s.
delyshBB Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - They should make a non-sporty looking one with peformances like cars that cost 20 000$ today. Ala VW Golf V and the sort, not cars that perform like Ferraris and cost 20k.
delyshBB Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Wind plants don't make much juice tho. You need huge investments to make enough power. Hydroplants, nuclear plants are the ways to go right now.
JohnDeBunkTest Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - The Hydroplants look promising, and produce very reliable power. They are nearly competitive now, and would be if only production was scaled up.However, wind is still far cheaper per kWh generated than nuclear plants. Wind is now cheaper than coal (or it would be if they quit subsidizing coal).
drummerdudex017 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - hahah "oh jesus. mark, please."
gilessmokey Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - 700 hp,find out what the real figure is.
ProbableHypothesis Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Well, let me pull out the calculator. Car costs $109,000.00. If gas costed $5.00 a gallon and I had a car that averaged 20 mpg and I drove 40 miles a day then I'd spend $10.00 a day on gas. $109,000.00 divided by $10.00 equals 10900 days or 29.86 years that I could drive my gas car with that kinda cash and I'm using low mpg in the calc. Even if the price was half it wouldn't make sense. For the life of me, I dont know how that car couldn't be built for $10K to $12K and sale for $20K to $25K.
