Jul 7, 2008 - Why care? Just relax and enjoy the song

Jul 7, 2008 - Neil is at his best as a one-man show. While his acoustic skills are masterful and his harmonica is very good (to me) he never seems to flex his electric muscles with the same prowess. He speaks with the electic guitar in an apparent expression of rage. I've no doubt that he is showing us "what's in his head" with those raw and often discordant riffs.Though I don't agree with his views on religion and may or may not follow all of his political views (God bless America) Neil is a true great!

smoke117 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Meh...this really is an average performance of a fantastic song. Go listen to the BBC performance later in the year and tell me differently. He just hadn't figured out how to sing this song yet and sings it emotionless here. Anyone who has listened to the BBC performance of this can't really enjoy the early version off of Massey Hall. *shrug*

OKEYETHIN Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Neil is always good everytime

kammhron Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I don't think Neil Young ever sang a note without emotion. It's all good. All great songs don't start out great, they evolve into greatness.

JamesTaylor10 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - smoke117.I Agree to an extent, no question the bbc one is better, but you can't really say he sings this without emotion.

nosrednugj Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - In May 1964, Love Me Do was the number one hit single in the US. At that time, John Lennon was 23 and Paul McCartney was 21.

Jul 7, 2008 - its unbelievable that one man can leave theaters, stadiums, living rooms, silent and speechless only with just a guitar and a voice. unbelievable.

OKEYETHIN Says:

thenifeelnothing Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - look at how the time goes past........it was 1973 when this song came out...i still have the album

olivedrag Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I argree the other version is probably better but he does sing it with emotion - I just think he wasn't feeling so good here - he looks a bit like he's suffering from the health point of view. Everyone has their off days.

EveKauai Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Nonsense, m'dear!!!- a great song IS a great song...any way y'slice it...if it's great, it's great; the End!!!! Just as a mediocre song always remains mediocre, no matter how well-produced or marketed, or if one evolves memories around it so that it FEELS like a good or great song...but that feeling is subjective; the song, however, remains the same!!!;)

redoctober90 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I'll say this: A record store owner (yes, there are ones around) played this album over his sound system in his store. It is incredible to believe that he went on stage by himself and did a show without any backup and just a guitar, piano and his voice, and that's it!By the way, in regards to his health, he was battling back problems at the time - I read somewhere that he had a brace on while he was playing (and I think he acknowedged it later in the show).
