Nov 18, 2008 - One of the symptoms of Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) (which Jess has, right?) is muscle pain and/or joint pain. An acquintance of mine who was the same disease wears those kind of braces as well (and ones in her ankles, too). I once asked her, and she said it prevents her from twistin/moving her wrists and ankles and that prevents some pain. I haven't kept track on if Jess has or hasn't got stiff braces on, but that might be a cause. Not something I personally deal with or know, still..

Jess wasn't comparing disabilityher with Kelly's - but simply empathising with some of the day-to-day complications of having a disability. Sophie wants to win so badly. She can't see past it to realise that she may not be the most worthy winner - and even though she doesn't understand what Jess goes through, Jess is still at a disadvantage compared to the average MODEL and that this may also be her only chance to be a MODEL.

Nov 18, 2008 - Sophie is such a big bully- she has been after Jess this entire series and it is getting quite old. Just because you cannot readily see Jess's disability doesn't make her any less worthy of the prize than Sophie. I hope Sophie doesn't win this show; she really has a bad attitude and is not a pretty girl at all. She is one to talk about saying Jess says "I can't"- if I remember correctly, Sophie said she couldn't do things pretty often in the beginning. (catwalk, posing in the store window etc)

Nov 18, 2008 - I feel so sorry for Jess in this video at the end. She is right that Sophie or Kelly or the other Kellie have never had to prove their disability. It is 10 times harder when you feel you have to prove your disability to get the help you so desprately need! I think Sophie is quite bitter and while I love her politics of making a statement I think this clip is a show of just how ugly her personality is.

Nov 18, 2008 - They bullied Jess, the way they were talking to her about the disabilities she has was bad, I have a similar disability to what Jess has and it is so hard to get any help for it atall. I do sympathise with Sophie because it must be so frustrationg to have to use a wheelchair all the time. But her attitude towards other disabilities needs to change if she wants to become a role model.

Nov 18, 2008 - Poor Jess, I too have an invisable illness and disability and spent years defending myself and asking for help, as with any disability what you see on the surface is not everything. Infact Sophie said that about herself then wouldnt give Jess the same benefit. How else do you phrase I can't hear or see out of this eye and ear? she was stating a fact. Sophie can't stand but is allowed to state that.
