Jul 7, 2008 - I agree with you about the Fair Tax. Spending could be cut rather easily if we are willing to bring our troops home from around the world. One also needs to take into account the growth in the economy that would occur due to lower taxes and a readjustment of our military. There are many agencies which would be eliminated. The hard part is getting the members of Congress to do what is necessary. I think we cannot afford NOT to cut spending as deeply as Ron Paul is suggesting.
MarkDouglasC Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Peter - right. Did you see Paul on Jim Cramer Mad Money? Cramer acted like he was all for letting the market work, dont just keep printing paper money (Pauls position basically). Cramer is such a liar -- He BEGS demans and screams bloody murder if FED doesnt keep printing money so he and big boys get a free lunch.
peterscottfrost Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Yes. I agree. Cramer is always asking for rate cuts. (At least he's entertaining to watch!) :D
MarkDouglasC Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Spending could NOT be cut easily. IF you think that, you just dont understand the greed of the voters. YOu just dont get it. Sure we all SAY we want it cut -- we want it cut FOR OTHERS. Just human nature. You are just oblivious of political reality, and inseparable from that, is that you dont know what the problem is, or how to fix it. Quit blaming the wrong people.
peterscottfrost Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I'm not sure who MarkDouglasC's comment was to or who he thinks is being "blamed." His attitude seems to be that we cannot cut spending. Period. And anyone who thinks we can is deluded and unrealistic. If this is the case, then there truly is no hope, because that is like saying that ceasing to borrow more on your credit card than you can afford is "not realistic." If that is true, bankruptcy is inevitable for you -- as it is for our nation if we cannot change our ways. And soon.
peterscottfrost Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I am perfectly willing to let the government keep the Social Security taxes it has taken from me if I can get out of the system. I want nothing from government except for it to get out of the way and leave me alone. Government only destroys wealth. It cannot create it. Government can only give away what it first takes away. See Lew Rockwell's great essay on this subject, titled, "Government the Destroyer" posted January 28th on LewRockwell dot com
peterscottfrost Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - By the way, if you really want to understand "the greed of the voters," as MarkDouglasC puts it, I recommend the short and extremely insightful book, titled "The Law" by Frederic Bastiat.

Jul 7, 2008 - I wish RP would expose the jewish element in all this. Why did we become so interested in the affairs of the Middle East right after Israel became a state? Why do we allow a bunch of Zionist bankers to control our currency with no accountablitity? Why do we give billions of dollars in foreign aid to Israel in addition to waging wars to eliminate their enemies? Why do we allow jews to have a virtual monopoly over the mass media? Ron needs to attack this issue OPENLY and fill in the blanks for ppl

Jul 7, 2008 - The federal government runs ripshot over the people and the states like an organized crime syndicate all because of the federal income tax. We need Ron Paul as president. Otherwise, we MUST refuse to pay federal income taxes no matter what. That is where our employers come in. If our employers refuse to stop withholding income taxes, we should ask our employers to change our employement contracts into service contracts because service payments are not subject to income taxes.
kindvideo2 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Bush is giving out $600 in tax money to stimulate the economy. I just finished my tax return and Ron Paul's plan would give me $7336.00 to stimulate the economy. Do you suppose that no one else is pushing Ron Paul's plan because they are afraid of over stimulating the economy? I would guess it is probably more that they don't want to relinguish their power over us.GO RON PAUL!!!!
IRSFRAUDEXPOSED Says:

peterscottfrost Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Ron Paul is the only candidate who realizes that the "solutions" to the current economic situation being proposed by the president, Congress and other presidential candidates all entail doing mmore of what created the problem in the first place, namely, low interest rates and deficit spending. This stimulus package which sends out checks to Americans is really not a gift from the govenemnt but a loan from our grandkids.
