Nov 18, 2008 - i like that system, never seen it before thanks foir posting. Where can i buy one? and how much should i be looking to spend on one?

THREEFLOORSDOWN1 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - just curious..but it looks like you could use wood too if you flipped the bottom peice upside down. have you tried that by chance?

prmaklpboo Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Never tried it, but I doubt there's enough ventilation holes in the bottom.

Nov 18, 2008 - Pablo, thank you for a very nice video about a really wonderful little kit.I have two of the stainless version of this kit. They are a little heavier but indestructible - worth the extra weight. Keep up the good wok.

21dan1951 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Pablo,For those interested, the complete kit with the stainless pot and pan and the aluminum windscreen and a dry military Trangia burner weighs in at 1.283 Kgs - without fuel or fuel bottle.

Nov 18, 2008 - Cool. I just bought one of these from eBay and Im going to use it on a 10 day hiking trip. Im a little concerned about how effective it will be in wind though. Thanks for showing us that....well done!

prmaklpboo Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - You should have no problem in the wind. The windshield is quite effective if you have some form of protection. For cold weather I would keep the burner in your pocket. Thanks for the comments.Pablo.

Nov 18, 2008 - Hey, nice post!I just wanted to know if the common meth burner, (that i seem to see as an attachment everywhere!) fits this product. If not, where can you find special spare burners?cheers

zerowildfire Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - It can be done both ways. Right way up and also with the sheild upside down. You need alot of kindling and tinder ready to keep feeding the fire tho. Works well but is a real mess washing the soot of afterwards.

strokenskwert Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - This is a great piece of gear. I used one for quite a while. It's a bit heavy and cantankerous and takes up quite a bit of space but if that's not an issue it's definitely worth a purchase.Mine was pretty cheap: around $8 U.S. and it came with a little flimsy fuel bottle that I used for liquid soap.

jrichardson6 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - if you want to cut the soot on the bottom of the pans caused by meths put 5 percent water in with the meths when u light it

rafffe Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - used this in the Swedish military, good stove, very reliant and durable, but in really cold weather (-30C) it's best to keep the burner warm before cooking.

Nibiru128 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I do not go hiking or camping, but I decided to buy a Trangia 25 stove set, in anticipation of us in the UK getting hit by rolling power cuts in the near future. These Trangia stoves are a work of pure design genius! No fuss, clean, amazingly compact, efficient and totally reliable. Buy a second burner and you can have in your kitchen the equivalent of a small/medium size electric hob ring or gas burner.

iMartger Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - That's cool, but not über-cool. I prefer the non-army-Trangias cuz' i have the 25-6. Cooler than this.

ejikKrasavcheg Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - great vid, thanks a lot for visual instructions =)

Paddeltroll Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Is the WINDSHIELD also available in Steel?! Does anyone know where to get one?!? I want to use it with a Woodfire in it and Aluminium won´t stand it I think...

prmaklpboo Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I'm pretty sure even the Stainless version has an aluminium windshield.

Paddeltroll Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - :-( The Windscreen in your vid looked like coloured by tempering colour...Thanks for Your Reply!

Nibiru128 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I Purchased a Trangia series 25 early on this year and I find it very reliable, a joy to cook with and it saves using electric as well.

prmaklpboo Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - To be honest, I'd prefer it to work well and be robust rather than be cool.

iMartger Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - ok :D

soccom8341576 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - This is even better than the civilian trangias!

th3r0nr Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I've built a wood fire inside the windshield and it works fine. I always though it was made of steel (albeit very thin).
