Jens Pulver (USA)vsNaoya Uetmatsu (JPN)Shooto22.03.2004Korakuen HallJens Pulver is a fomer UFC lightweight champion. He also had a very short but successful career as a professional boxer. He's known for his boxing skills mixed with wrestling. I like his striking skills but I feel he ignores his other skills in a match to the point of stupidity, eg. his match against Gomi.I don't know much about Naoya Uematsu other than his striking is definitely not in the same league as Pulver.Shooto as some of you MMA fans know is a smaller scale MMA show than Pride but is well organised and responsible for most of the top lightweight fighters in both K1 Heroes and Pride today. Some names to have come up from Shooto are 'Mach' Sakurai, Kid Yamamoto, Kaol Uno, Gomi and Kawajiri. They consistently hold great shows!

Nov 18, 2008 - undefeated at 145? former UFC champ? chokes out swanson in 35 seconds? already faced more outside the ring then faber ever will inside? No you cant count out Jens.

BaBu13 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Never denied he was good at one point, but you can't stay on top in this game forever.

nagulf Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - of course not. but hes not past his prime yet. He hasn't had this much to fight for in a while. hes finally found a stage for his natural weight class (again hes undefeated at 145. I expect a performance akin to the first penn fight, same motivation, same underdog status. same wonderboy opponent. except the fact that fabers smaller. yeah hes 34 which sounds old for a fighter, until you think of couture at 48 another fighter with the same kind of up and down record as Jens.
