Nov 18, 2008 - I dont think that alot of people realize what they have been given a opportunity to view. Pure masterpeace. Just think we will NEVER be able to look at one of these put together for the years 2000 to 3000! Not in this lifetime anyway.

Nov 18, 2008 - I saw Kirby Puckett in there, but I wish they'd have shown his 1991 Series homer with Twins announcer John Gordon's call where he yells "Touch em all Kirby Puckett" twice.

Nov 18, 2008 - Hmm, He is one of the greatest, but I think Babe Ruth is in a class all by himself. He was the prototype for the modern athlete.

Nov 18, 2008 - your right. fat, white, and alcoholic. a true prototype
BOHEMIO4LIFE Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Ruth's got to be greatest athlete ever because he did something that will never again be done. He hit more home runs in a season than some teams. No one will ever score more points or touchdowns in a season than some teams. Ruth did something that just seems unbelievable and impossible to me. He's the greatest athlete in the history of American sports. Like it or not, agree or disagree. Jordan and Ali just get more attention because they are more modern.
Bildo194 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Not to argue but other people have done similar things. Ladanian Tomlinson scored 31 TDs in 2006. Thats 31 x 6 = 186 points. That year the Oakland Raiders that year scored 168 points. LT outscored the Raiders.Ruth is on the short list. He's not a given but he's certainly in the top five
BOHEMIO4LIFE Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - LT matched one team. Ruth outhomered several temas that year. You can hit a home run just one way (not counting the inside the parker). However, you can score a touchdown several ways. You can have one yard touchdowns. You can't hit 30-foot home runs. Admittedly, LT was impressive, just not as impressive as Ruth. The only other achievement I would dare compare to Ruth 60 HR season would be Wilt's 50.4 ppg season.
