Jul 7, 2008 - hey brasamaan, you're right, these burgers will expand big time if you don't flatten the patties a good amount before hittin' the fire. Practice will get ya the right size burger for good eatin' -BBQ Pit Boys

MrSosa Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I always put an egg in with the meat and spices .. that way the burgers stay in one piece and don't crumble ..

ch0pst1cks Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Making me drool for that burger. Think I might go out back with my dad this weekend and grill some up. I've never put the onions on the burger while on the grill, is there a reason for that or just personal preference? Thanks, that's some good cookin!

BarbecueWeb Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - hey ch0pst1cks, no preference, but onions taste mighty good raw, heated up, browned, or caramelized on a burger.....they complement each other for sure! -BBQ Pit Boys

jpowell437 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - you can put a quarter sized hole in each burger before cooking (it'll close up when cooking) OR make the burgers bigger around and put a large indent in the middle, when they cook they'll end up flat.

mildjohn Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - You can't BBQ on a gas grill. The very definition of BBQ is slow cooking over wood coals, sometimes with an indirect heat source with wood chips for added smoke flavor.
