Here's a retro music video I produced for the superb 'Back in Time Live' retro events. This video features footage from various ZX Spectrum games including classics like Starquake, 3D Ant Attack, 3D Starstrike, Cybernoid, Dynamite Dan, Chuckie Egg, Manic Miner etc. etc. The video ends with the brilliant destruction of an alien city from the game 'Glass'.The video is backed by a SUPERB remix of Martin Galway's C64 'Arkanoid' theme (remixed by Lagerfeldt). The Arkanoid tune is of course a remix of Martin's ZX Spectrum music from the Ocean game 'Cobra' which is why I chose to feature it in this music vid. This video is also available on the Back in Time Live Showreel DVD (with much better picture quality) - http://www.binaryzone.org/ (it's in the retro DVD section!) ...

Jul 7, 2008 - My memories of the Spectrum:Rubber keys;Manic Miner/Jet Set Willy - if you typed in the word TYPEWRITER on Miner and WRITETYPER on Willy, a boot would appear and, using the correct sequence of numbers, (don't ask me) you could select rooms;Scrabble on the Speccy - two versions existed - identical in design - in one, it challenged every word above eight letters - in the other one, it didn't - I had endless hours of fun playing the computer - on Level 1, it would play ...

Jul 7, 2008 - ... OF and IT, and I would play words like ALADEQEWIG and, on one occasion, MOHANSUHIPUBARE - one time, I used a J, Q, X and Z, covered three triple words and scored 1,331 points! Computer challenged, and I just typed Y.Somebody invented a version of Monopoly - to avoida lawsuit, he caled it Automonopoli - you could decide to NOT buy a property - in which case, it would auction it off - on separate occasions, I bought Mayfair for £1, £0 and -£50 - it gave me the property and £50!

Jul 7, 2008 - I used to slag off this console...but the games look better than some of today's. More playable. Today's Hollywood don't understand that gameplay is more important than graphics.
