Sep 7, 2008 - A terrific 1981 movie by Isao Takahata (Studio Ghibli), with help from the equally great Yasuo Otsuka and Yoichi Kotabe (animation directors). It became a hit, and spawned a TV series that lasted for several years. Unfortunately, there are no English subtitles on any releases, but I'm hopeful that the fansub community will change this, or that some company will release the film here in America.
