Richard Charles Luciano, better known as Rocko, started his dance career at the age of seven. He trained and competed in jazz and rhythm tap with Act One Studio thru middle school and into high school. Last November, Rocko was introduced to the Bay Area�s hip-hop scene when asked to be an understudy for Micaya�s group, Soulforce. Soon after, he fatefully took a Funks company class with Mariel Martin, where he also met Funks Artistic Director Emerson Aquino. Rocko went on to audition for the group, and has now found a home with Funkanometry SF.Rocko is still exploring his style, but for now his choreography is abstract, style-heavy, and playful. His strong passion for art and music is very present in his commitment to hip-hop, and to the Funks SF company. He is SO amazed that the class he was incredibly intimidated to take a few months ago, is the same class he is now given the chance to teach. Rocko feels grateful because motivation and inspiration have now become easy things to find when surrounded by his Funkanometry SF family.
