Jul 7, 2008 - The wait list is long here only because our taxes pay for health care and so everyone is covered. If Private Health Care exsisted here then poor people would not get the care they diserve. I have worked for years but then ended up on dialysis and had to claim bankruptcy. Should I have been cast aside because I am poor now? It isn't my fault! I should have been diagnosed as a baby with urinary reflux but never was. I pay into this health care with taxes. Do NOT want it privatized.

Who cares if you don't pay for the treatment out of your own pocket, if you can't get the treatment until you are already dead? What good does that do? I had to wait 9 months for nerve surgery. While I was waiting, my muscles were wasting away. It took 3 months just to see a specialist, forget about the actual surgery - 6 months later. What a joke Canada's health care system is.

Generation X will be having "average" students as their doctors, because the cream of the crop is going to be doing something else. You get what you pay for. We could free up all the money needed to get excellent healthcare for everyone by placing more scrutiny on the workmans compensation system. Too many people abuse this in order not to have to work.
