Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - Absolutely correct. That passage in Ephesians is a great one too because it plainly says that we are not justified by our works, so that none can boast. SO any theology that is based on a system of works is a false gospel. Period.

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - We don't have a problem with the rank and file JW. In fact, we are very sorry that they are being led astray by a false prophet org. It is the org. that we speak out against with its false gospel of works and stipping Christ of his honor and glory.

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - no the point you were trying to make is that they aren't Catholic and they clearly are on most issues, although reformed in some other areas. I was pretty sure I remembered a rift bet. them and the Roman Catholic Church, but I wanted to refresh on the history.

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - Frankly. I am tiring of this convo. Guys, he's happy where he is. I say, let him have it. We have so many other people who want to know the truth of God's word for us to waste anymore time on someone who like the darkness. Jesus said "shake the dust off your feet".

JesusequalsGod Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - We don't have a problem with you personally, but rather we have a problem with the WT tellling people if they don't become a JW, they will be destroyed. Your Salvation is not based on you going to the KH or door to door.

ihveit Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - ihv>> and i am sure they used their perverted translation of the bible to prove the trinity false? hey they had to.. there are 20,000 changes they made to the bible to make it suit their teachings.. will

ihveit Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - ihv>> with informed jws YOU dont have to look at their literature.. they have it all memorized already.. will

ihveit Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - mack>> I knew nothing of Russell to start with, and I don't know a whole lot more today.then i would highly suggest that you study about him since he is the founder of your religion. willps he is the one who claimed that a false jesus came in 1874 and thats who he followed to his death or are you familiar with that?

ihveit Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - you are totally correct.. anyone who wont look at the past history of any religion is asking to be misled will

trolltotroll Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - No the Watchtower does not teach the Grace of Almighty God as is taught by His only begotten Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross for forgiveness of sin so that the believer may have life everlasting through His blood that he shed upon the Alter of the Cross

trolltotroll Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - The WT spreads garbage theology. It tickles the ears and seems so right. I know someone that does not eat pork and says when he smells a whiff of it - it smells nice an pleasant to the nose but after a minute or so the sickening grease and poison is also sensed.

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - Can't help but notice you have not responded to any of these "baseless allegations". For example, which apostle ever siad Jesus is Michael the Arch-angel. PLease see 2 Cor. 11: 3, 4.

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - open minded just like you :D

mackmanI958 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - How ironic, ... and not a little comical, .. you guys talking about looking at the past! Well, don't look to closely at yours, you'll be sorely disappointed!!!

ihveit Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - nack when i look back its not at some organized religion... there is no religion that is going to save you. (and thats the whole idea isnt it) i look back at what CHRIST DID for us.. that includes you.. he is the only way to GOD.. dont be decieved will

mackmanI958 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - If I answer your question, what will you do with it? You are so blinded by your own scornful attitude, anything I say, will fall on deaf ears, no matter how simple or how truthful.

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - It's not a scornful attitude. FACT: No apostle EVER said such a thing ANYWHERE in Scripture. Period. Even the WTS has admitted it had "deduced" this concept but that it is not stated anywhere. Now, what does Paul say here? Any "other Jesus" is deception. It could not be more clear. He was combatting the theology of the Saduccees who believed the same thing the WT does--that Jesus was an angel.

mackmanI958 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - (1 Thessalonians 4:16) . . .because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, "with an archangel's voice" and with God's trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. . .

mackmanI958 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - The title "archangel" means "chief of the angels." Revelation speaks of "Michael and his angels." Other places where the Bible mentions angels subject to a righteous servant of God have reference to Jesus. For example, Paul speaks of "the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels." —2 Thessalonians 1:7; Matthew 24:30, 31; 25:31.

mackmanI958 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - Sill say, "No apostle EVER said such a thing ANYWHERE in Scripture. Period"?

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - What else is new but reading something into the text that simple is NOT THERE. It says his voice is like an archangels' voice not that He IS an archangel. The idea conveyed is that it is a voice of great power and might.

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - HEBREWS 1:5—"TO WHICH OF THE ANGELS DID GOD EVER SAY, 'YOU ARE MY SON'?"What Revelation does NOT say is that one of those arch angels is JESUS. Paul's words you quote say he is WITH the angels. NOT that He is one of those angels. Still reading into the text something that is so totally NOT there.

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - Absolutely. You prove nothing by reading something into texts that is simply NOT there in no way, shape, or form. But I will say that the WT has trained you to deliver its erroneous arguments well. You are a good student of the "faithful slave".

mackmanI958 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - Gosh, and I thought that was pretty good! I'll just have to go back to the W.T drawing board. ... But whilest I'm gone, I want you to work on that scornful attitude, J.W's have feelings too you know.

Simon61161 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - Yes, I know, and believe me, I do not scorn JWs, esp. when I have family among your numbers. But you are right, I do feel intense scorn for the org. when it only pays lip service to concern about your eternal salvation. It is the same indignation Jesus Himself had for the Pharissees, who also believed they would be saved by their works and were simply the blind leading the blind.
